Salibandya on tutkittu kohtalaisen vähän huolimatta sen suosion suuresta kasvusta viime vuosina. Varsinkaan naispelaajien suorituskyvystä ei ole tutkimustietoa. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää kilpailukauden aikaisia muutoksia naispelaajien voima- ja nopeusominaisuuksissa. Suorituskyvyn ylläpitäminen ja jopa parantaminen kilpailukauden aikana on tärkeää, sillä kauden tärkeimmät ottelut pelataan kilpailukauden lopussa runkosarjan jälkeen.
