Differential occurrence of S100A7 in breast cancer tissues: A proteomic-based investigation

Purpose The present study reports for the first time a large-scale proteomic screening of the occurrence, subcellular localization and relative quantification of the S100A7 protein among a group of 100 patients, clinically grouped for the diagnosis of infiltrating ductal carcinoma (IDC). Experimental design To this purpose, the methods of differential proteomics, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry were used. Results The identity of two isoforms of the protein was assessed by mass spectrometry and immunologically confirmed. Navigated percutaneous screw fixation of the pelvis with O-arm 2: two years' experience.

Aim To evaluate the case series of the patients operated with percutaneous fixation by the navigation system based on 3D fluo-roscopic images, to assess the precision of a surgical implant and functional outcome of patients. Methods A retrospective study of pelvic ring fractures in a 2-year period included those treated with the use of the O-Arm 2 in com-bination with the Stealth Station 8. Invariant Feature Matching for Image Registration Application Based on New Dissimilarity of Spatial Features

An invariant feature matching method is proposed as a spatially invariant feature matching approach. Deformation effects, such as affine and homography, change the local information within the image and can result in ambiguous local information pertaining to image points. New method based on dissimilarity values, which measures the dissimilarity of the features through the path based on Eigenvector properties, is proposed. The skeleton of siliceous sponges consists of amorphous biogenous silica (biosilica). Biosilica formation is driven enzymatically by means of silicatein(s). During this unique process of enzymatic polycondensation, skeletal elements (spicules) that enfold a central proteinaceous structure (axial filament), mainly comprising silicatein, are formed. Electron Angular Distribution in Laser-Assisted X-ray Photoeffect

1981

Calculations are reported of the differential cross section of the laser-assisted X-ray photoeffect from K shells showing that drastic changes occur in the shape of the ejected-electron angular distribution when laser photons are exchanged during the ionisation. This process appears well suited to the study of laser effects and multiphoton exchanges in laser-assisted atomic collisions.

An adaptive multimeme algorithm for designing HIV multidrug therapies.

This paper proposes a period representation for modeling the multidrug HIV therapies and an Adaptive Multimeme Algorithm (AMmA) for designing the optimal therapy. The period representation offers benefits in terms of flexibility and reduction in dimensionality compared to the binary representation. The AMmA is a memetic algorithm which employs a list of three local searchers adaptively activated by an evolutionary framework. Self-organization of active particles by quorum sensing rules

Many microorganisms regulate their behaviour according to the density of neighbours. Such quorum sensing is important for the communication and organisation within bacterial populations.
