This study explores a mediated variety of right-wing populist discourse in the digital context, given the populists’ inclination to bypass legacy media to connect directly to the citizens to garner political support. It analyzes a sample of the Tea Party’s newsfeed headlines posted in the spring of 2019. A corpus of 308 headlines collected according to a “constructed week” formula has been coded first according to selected news values parameters (Bednarek and Caple 2017), and then with respect to stylistic devices operationalized in terms of “casual,” “colloquial” and “commonsensical” expressions. Trait emotional intelligence (EI) is a noteworthy psychological resource in nursing. However, its effects on well-being and job performance are inconsistent. Thus, we explored the latent beneficial and risk profiles of trait EI among 461 Japanese eldercare nurses. Latent profile analysis revealed six latent profiles. In addition, multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) showed that the profile with the highest overall scores on the trait EI dimensions was associated with the most beneficial outcomes (better well-being, higher job performance). Modeling ontologies for robotic environments

On the basis of a multiple abstraction levels specification process, we developed a representational model for environmental robotic knowledge through the definition of a set of ontologies using a multi perspective approach. A general ontological model for typical indoor environments has been first developed, followed by its specialization using an implementation perspective. Actual software implementation of the ontology has been obtained via a XML-based markup language, used to build a repository for robotic environmental knowledge. Copyright 2002 ACM.

This paper discusses the concept of Rilkean memories, recently introduced by Mark Rowlands, to analyze the complex intermix of hardware and software related to the self of a robot. The Rilkean memory of an event is related to the trace of that episode left in the body of the individual. It transforms the act of remembering into behavioral and bodily dispositions, thus generating the peculiar behavioral style of the individual, which is at the basis of her autobiographical self. I denna artikel studerar jag hur uttal presenteras i finska gymnasieläroböcker (n=10) i svenska som andra språk. Syftet är att undersöka vilka uttalsdrag som tas upp i läroböckerna och relationen mellan dessa drag och begriplighet. Metoden som jag använder är kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Prosodiska drag har ansetts ha en stor betydelse för begriplighet. Vad det gäller svenska är speciellt satsrytm viktig. Analysen visar dock att uppmärksamheten oftast fästs vid enskilda segment (språkljud) och ord. L’individu dans son automobile, durant ses déplacements quotidiens, habite d’une façon ou d’une autre l’espace circonscrit dans lequel il se trouve alors. De ce point de vue, il apparaît nécessaire de développer une ethno-sociologie des manières d’habiter son automobile. Pour atteindre cette ambition heuristique, nous préciserons ici les termes de cette méthode que nous nommons « entretien participant ». Hybridant les méthodes de l’entretien et de l’observation participante, l’entretien du rapport de l’individu contemporain à son automobile alternant sans cesse entre réflexivité et routines, entre repli sur soi et disponibilité au monde et à soi.
