Virtual Resource Allocation for Wireless Virtualized Heterogeneous Network with Hybrid Energy Supply

In this work, two novel virtual user association and resource allocation algorithms are introduced for a wireless virtualized heterogeneous network with hybrid energy supply. In the considered system, macro base stations (MBSs) are supplied by the grid power and small base stations (SBSs) have the energy harvesting capability in addition to the grid power supplement. Multiple infrastructure providers (InPs) own the physical resources, i.e., BSs and radio resources. Evaluating a hierarchical approach to landscape level harvest scheduling

Forest planning at the landscape level has the potential to become a large intractable problem. In Finland, Metsähallitus (the state enterprise that manages federally owned land) creates strategic plans to determine the appropriate harvest level. While these plans are feasible, they are not implementable in practice as the harvests are scattered temporally and spatially. Requiring that harvests be organized both temporally and spatially for practical implementation can result in an intractable problem. Product information, hedonic evaluation, and purchase decision: an experimental study of orange juice

AbstractTwo randomly sampled groups of subjects were endowed with real budgets and placed in 5 different budget/price situations. In each situation they had to evaluate 6 orange juices and complete a demand table. At the end of the experiment, one demand table was randomly selected and participants had to buy the corresponding products. In one group, participants choose after looking at the packaging in the other they could also taste the products. Results show that participants who chose without tasting, made quicker decisions, selected a larger number of variants and were more influenced by prices than those who could taste the products. In Italy Origanum vulgare L. is cultivated only in few areas and its production does not even satisfy the national market demand. Until now the interest on this crop has been very low because of the high cost of manual harvest and bunch binding. The aim of this work is to evaluate the use of a reaper-binder (made for harvesting cereal crops) for harvesting and bunch binding Origanum vulgare L. Study of voltage decrease in organic light emitting diodes during the initial stage of lifetime

Abstract We report the results of lifetime DC testing at constant current of not-encapsulated organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on Tris (8 idroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3) as emitting material. In particular, a voltage decrease during the initial stage of the lifetime test is observed. The cause of this behavior is also discussed, mainly linked to initial Joule self-heating of the device, rising its temperature above room temperature until thermal equilibrium is reached at steady state.

The Synthesis, Condensation, and Luminescence of Stilbenoid Oligomers with Alkoxysilane End Groups

ABSTRACTA synthetic route to highly luminescent organic semiconductors with curable alkoxysilyl groups is described. Monodisperse oligo(phenylenevinylene)s are rigidly connected to di- and triethoxysilanes via Heck reactions or via cross-metathesis. Hydrolysis of the silicic esters yields silanols condensing to linear and cyclic oligo-OPV-siloxanes or to three-dimensional networks, thus allowing the transformation of small molecules to fluorescent materials with well-defined chromophores. Transparent films are obtained by casting of soluble cyclosiloxanes and from OPV-silanetriols, the latter can be cured to insoluble networks.

ResumenEl objetivo del trabajo es comprobar, para los mercados de valores españoles, si el comportamiento de los precios incorporando la información revelada por el anuncio de beneficios trimestrales, es más eficiente en aquellas empresas en las cuales se negocian opciones sobre sus acciones. Utilizando la tradicional metodología del suceso y la comparación de funciones de distribución, obtenemos que para las empresas con opciones, la información se incorpora antes.
