Data from: Effects of undergrowth removal and edge proximity on ground beetles and vascular plants in urban boreal forests

Urban forests are regularly managed for human safety and aesthetic reasons, but they are crucial habitat for many species. Removals of undergrowth occur commonly in these forests, yet the ecological consequences of these operations are poorly understood. We sampled ground beetles (Coleoptera, Carabidae) and vascular plants along 20-m edge gradients in Finnish urban forests, in five stands treated 0.5−2.5 years earlier with undergrowth removal and in five untreated stands. Statistiska arbitrāža tiek plaši analizēta zinātniska literatūra, tomēr lielāka daļa no pētījumiem koncentrējas tika uz viena modeļa vai viena tirgū. Pētījuma mērķis ir ar ekonometriskām un statistiskām metodēm novērtēt statistiska arbitrāža ienesīgumu un optimālāko modeli Ķīnas, ASV, Eiropas, Korejas, Japānas un Brazīlijas akciju tirgos, kā arī pārbaudīt vai pastāv sakarība starp stratēģijas ienesīgumiem un tirgu efektivitātes līmeņiem. Stratēģijas simulācijas rezultāti liecina, ka nepastāv stratēģijas kura var paradīt labāko rezultātu visos tirgos, tomēr kointegrācijas modelis sasniedz lielāko ienesīgumu trijos no sešiem tirgiem. Darba mērķis ir izstrādāt Latvijas apstākļiem atbilstošus ražošanas nozarē strādājošo uzņēmumu bankrota prognozēšanas modeļus. Iespējamību, ka uzņēmums var bankrotēt, ir lietderīgi zināt gan uzņēmumam, gan potenciālajiem uzņēmumu sadarbības partneriem. Presently, the food chains of the famous saline alkaline flamingo-lakes of East Africa are the focus of intense scientific discussion as the lakes host toxic cyanobacteria, which when consumed by Lesser Flamingos, weaken the birds and therefore make them susceptible to attacks by infective diseases. The distribution, genetic and toxicological aspects of Microcystis in Kenya has been studied extensively. Although there are reports on the occurrence of Microcystis in Kenya’s hypersaline alkaline lakes, they have not been confirmed. Bakalaura darba tēma - ,,Aprūpes procesa nodrošināšana pacientam ar šizofrēniju stacionārā”. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot kā notiek aprūpes nodrošināšana pacientam ar šizofrēniju stacionāros x un y. Pamatojoties uz šo mērķi tiek izvirzīta hipotēze - Aprūpes process pacientam ar šizofrēniju stacionārā tiek nodrošināts. Pētījumā piedalījās 102 respondenti, garīgās veselības aprūpes māsas (turpmāk māsas), kuru darba stāžs psihiatriskajā stacionārā ir no 1 līdz 31 un vairāk gadi. Pētniecības darbs sastāv no teorētiskās un praktiskās daļas. Biomolecular study of the human remains from tomb 5859 in the Etruscan necropolis of Monterozzi Tarquinia (Vitarbo, Italy)

Abstract Archaeological excavation in an Etruscan room tomb, from the Monterozzi necropolis in Tarquinia led to the recovery of four individuals. It was hypothesized that they could be members of a single family group. As both archaeological data and classical anthropological analysis provided little information in this direction, ancient DNA (aDNA) was extracted from bone and tooth fragments of the individuals. For each subject HVR-I of the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) was cloned and sequenced. To identify the sex of the individuals, amelogenine and SRY genes were analysed.
