Neem oil, a plant-derived product rich in bioactives, has been incorporated in liposomes and hyalurosomes modified by adding argan oil and so called argan-liposomes and argan-hyaluro-somes. Argan oil has also been added to the vesicles because of its regenerative and protective effects on skin. In the light of this, vesicles were specifically tailored to protect the skin from oxidative stress and treat lesions. This paper presents experimental analysis and numerical modelling aimed at improved understanding and prediction of the hydromechanical behaviour of volcanic ash at various states of saturation. Results from a comprehensive experimental programme are presented in order to characterise the response of the material in terms of matric suction and confining stress changes. The evolution of the yield stress at different suction levels has been quantified. The volumetric response with suction variations allowed the analysis of the collapse-upon-wetting behaviour. A quantitative investigation on the thermoelastic effect of CFRP laminates

The thermoelastic effect on CFRP laminates with various lay-ups is investigated. A thick low crimp unidirectional fabric reinforcement is adopted. The measured thermoelastic signal is compared with predictions from two analytical models based on the meso-mechanical bulk properties of the lamina and on assuming a strain witness behaviour of the surface resin rich layer.

This paper provides solutions for De Saint-Venant torsion problem on a beam with arbitrary and uniform cross-section. In particular three methods framed into complex analysis have been considered: Complex Polynomial Method (CPM), Complex Variable Boundary Element Method (CVBEM) and Line Element-less Method (LEM), recently proposed. CPM involves the expansion of a complex potential in Taylor series, computing the unknown coefficients by means of collocation points on the boundary. Tämä pro gradu –tutkielma pohjautuu Jyväskylän yliopiston ”Oppiminen ja motivaatio” - hankkeen ”Alkuportaat – Lapset, vanhemmat ja opettajat yhteistyössä koulutien alussa” - seurantatutkimukseen. Tutkimuksen aineisto kerättiin vuosina 2011 lasten ollessa neljännellä luokalla. Tutkittavia äitejä oli 125. Tutkimuksessa oltiin kiinnostuneita siitä, millaisia huolenaiheita äideillä oli liittyen lapsen koulunkäyntiin. Huolenaiheita kysyttiin kyselylomakkeella. Lisäksi oltiin kiinnostuneita siitä, selittävätkö äidin sosiaalinen tausta, koulutustaso, vanhemmuuden stressi ja masentuneisuus äitien huolia.
