Poly[1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium [tri-μ-isothiocyanato-manganate(II)]]

2019

The title compound, {(C9H11N2)[Mn(NCS)3]} n , has been obtained as a side product of the salt metathesis reaction of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide, (EMIm)Br, and K2[Mn(NCS)4]. The structure consists of discrete 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cations and an anionic two-dimensional network of manganese(II)-based complex anions, interconnected by thiocyanate ions. Every Mn2+ ion is coordinated by three S atoms of three NCS− ions and three N atoms of further three NCS− ions in a meridional octahedral fashion.

The use of mineral materials for salinity control in roadside soils

2023

This paper presents the results of a fi eld study on using mineral materials (fi ne-grained sand and medium- -grained gravel) to reduce the concentration of readily soluble salts in a roadside environment. The investigated soils were Rendzic Sceletic Leptosols from an urban area characterized by a shallow humus horizon with a high content of skeletal parts, as well as a lack of homogeneity of the material in the soil profi le. All soil samples were taken from fi ve plots located along the main streets in the city of Opole (Southern Poland). It was revealed that the use of fi ne-grained sand and medium-grained gravel improved the structure of the surface soil layer, and thusfavoured the migr…

Non-linear optical, electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties of amphiphilic inner salt porphyrinic systems

2016

Three zwitterionic meso-substituted A3B- and AB2C-porphyrins containing one sulfonato alkylpyridinium substituent and three or two alkoxy-substituted phenyl groups were synthesized in good yield and fully characterized as to their physicochemical properties by a variety of techniques. This new series of inner salt donor-acceptor meso-substituted porphyrin derivatives were prepared for possible application as amphiphilic probes for membrane insertion in the area of combined second-harmonic and two-photon fluorescence cellular microscopy. To this end, the linear and nonlinear optical properties of the compounds were characterized, together with their electrochemical and spectroelectrochemica…

Effect of natural sea salt on physicochemical and textural properties of low sodium durum wheat bread

2015

Today, the dietary salt intake is considerably higher than the recommendations of the EFSA for good health (3-4 g salt/day). Several initiatives have been undertaken for a reduction in salt intake. The traditional use of sodium chioride (NaCI) fulfils various important rheological, technological and sensory properties in manufacturing of baked goods. However, using NaCI in the production of food has been controversially discussed since a high intake of sodium is associated with hypertension (1). Recently, the Reg (EU) 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims made on foods makes it possible to claims on a label 'low sodium/salt', 'very low sodium/salt' and 'sodium free or salt free' for food…

Characterization and control of microbial black spot spoilage in dry-cured Iberian ham.

2012

Abstract The presence of black spots on dry-cured Iberian ham surface is an alteration related to microbial population. Although it provokes important economic losses for the meat industry, the microorganisms responsible for this spoilage still remain unclear. The aim of this study was to identify the microorganisms involved in dry-cured Iberian ham black spot spoilage and to study the conditions affecting their growth. Several microbial strains were isolated from Iberian hams spoiled with black spots at the beginning of post-salting stage. However just one strain produced black coloration in both culture media and fat from Iberian ham. This strain was tentatively identified as Pseudomonas …

Sāls nikotīna bāzes tvaicēšanas ietekme uz zobu krāsas maiņu

2022
