The subject of the study is analyzing the impact of coconut fibre and salt mixture used for eliminating slipperiness on roads on roadside soil. The tests were done on the soil samples taken from the fixed areas twice: in the autumn before applying the composite and in the following spring. Laboratory tests indicated decrease of conduciveness in soil after using the composite in wintertime. This can cause decreasing saltiness of roadside soil. In contrast to commonly used methods of eliminating slipperiness on roads with salts only applying the composite could diminish the negative effects of roadside soil saltiness.

La prestazione di salto verticale risulta essere uno degli elementi caratterizzanti il gioco della pallavolo e della pallacanestro. Tuttavia, poco è noto circa gli effetti dei loro modelli prestativi sulla capacità di salto verticale in giovani atlete. Lo scopo di questo lavoro, è stato, pertanto, quello di valutare, in soggetti sedentari e giocatori di pallavolo e pallacanestro di sesso femminile, il tempo di volo e l’altezza di salto durante l’esecuzione dello squat jump (SJ) e del counter-movement jump (CMJ). The crystal growth of potassium iodide was controlled by using the neutral organic 1,1′-bis(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)-2,2′-biimidazole (L) ligand as a modifier. The selected modifier allows the preservation of original cubic [K4I4] units and their arrangement into a linear ligand-supported 1D chain. The supported [K4I4] cubes are only slightly distorted compared to the cubes found in pure KI salt. The N–K binding of the ligand to the KI salt, as well as weak I⋯H, N⋯H, and N⋯I interactions, stabilizes the structure to create a unique 1D polymer of neutral potassium iodide ionic salt inside the [K4I4L4]n complex.

La devoció en terres de parla catalana a l'anacoreta sant Onofre es troba bastant difosa i compta amb nombrosos testimonis. Entre els literaris, en destaquen dos. Un, en català, publicat a principis del segle XVI, a València —anònim i amb clares evidències de ser un treball que recull textos elaborats en estadis anteriors—, i l'altre publicat a Barcelona —malgrat que obra del valencià Onofre Salt—, del 1620, i en castellà. Ens proposem veure les diferències entre l'un i l'altre i, encara, els punts en comú de dos textos devocionals hagiogràfics que es troben als extrems de la cruïlla de l'edat moderna: de l'edat mitjana al Renaixement, el primer, i ja al barroc, el segon.

The sense of taste is a chemical sense and one of the most ancestral sensory modalities. It allows detectingand appreciating taste molecules present in our food. Beyond our vital needs, the pleasure elicited from whatwe eat can drive our feeding behaviors sometimes up to excess. Food intake involves several sensorysystems, mainly smell and taste. The underlying molecular mechanisms are relatively complex. This articlefocuses on the extent of the chemical space associated with the five primary tastes (sour, salty, sweet, bitterand umami), and details the fundamental role of gustatory receptors in the perception of taste as well aswithin interindividual variabilities.

En ambients halòfils de clima mediterrani com els localitzats en el litoral sud alacantí, l’ecofisiologia de la germinació és afectada essencialment pel dèficit hídric estacional, les elevades temperatures i les propietats del sòl. En aquest marc d’irregularitat ambiental, s’establí la resposta de germinació integrada en el cicle vital de l’espècie herbàcia halòfita Mesembryanthemum nodiflorum L. per tal d’avançar en el coneixement del funcionament d’aquests ambients salins i així poder abordar futurs programes de conservació vegetal en praderies salines.
