Positive and negative factors in agent oriented software development : a case study
2006
Masteroppgave i informasjonssystemer 2006 - Høgskolen i Agder, Kristiansand This thesis attempts to pinpoint the main differences in agent oriented software engineering as opposed to more legacy approaches. The agent paradigm, still in its infancy, is believed to offer exciting new prospects to the process of modern complex information systems development, but although many tools, frameworks and applications are readily available, there is as of yet no specific research on how these technologies affects and differ the development process. The research approach in finding these factors was two-folded. By conducting a comprehensive literature study, a set of implications was derived to repres…
2020
Cultivation and co-creation of education between academy and nursing home-a critical ethnography study Collaboration between academy and practicein education is emphasized. In this study, weexplored and described boundary-crossing spaces, when co-creating an adjusted educational program for nursing students in a nursing home in Norway. Our aim was to explore how to learn person-centered dementia care through the participants in a learning community. A critical ethnographic approach and method with observations, field notes, minutes of board, spontaneous meetings, and focus groups particularly with the students were used. Data were analyzed with six-step thematic analysis by Braun and Clarke…
Learning activities in bachelor nursing education to learn pre- and postoperative nursing care—A scoping review
2022
The aim of this scoping review was to systematically map and summarise the existing literature on learning activities in pre- and postoperative nursing care for undergraduate nursing students. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses–Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) and the Johanna Briggs Institute guidelines were applied. Eleven articles were included in the scoping review. The learning activities involved simulation-based learning (including human patient simulation and virtual simulation), web-based learning and case studies. A range of pre- and postoperative content was applied in the learning activities. Students’ knowledge, skills, clinical deci…
Sam…
På bakrommet til sakkyndige bedømmelsesutvalg. En kamp om å fortolke kriteriene
2020
This chapter offers outsiders a view of what goes on when a committee of experts assesses a candidate’s application for promotion to docent. The authors discuss various interpretations of the criteria a candidate must fulfill to attain promotion and the fact that different committees employ different interpretations. Some analytical questions and predetermined assumptions are used as reflective tools to analyze the experiences in six cases. In closing, the chapter offers some recommendations to the parties involved in various levels of the docent path: academic institutions and their administrations, members of assessment committees and the docent candidates themselves.
2020
This chapter presents a template developed for a facilitating seminar program for candidates seeking to become docents. The processes of planning, implementing, and evaluating the offered program are described. Dilemmas associated with academic advisement and other participatory dilemmas, as well as management’s choices and institutional embeddedness, are also discussed. The implemented seminar program is a pioneer project. Thus, it is encouraging that both the participants and management assessed the project so positively.
2020
The author describes her professional journey from social worker in various settings via contract appointment at a research institution to employment as a university tutor. She relates how she left a nearly completed PhD project and joined the docent path instead. The importance of the critical scientific approach in her research work and how it influenced her application for promotion is explained. She also presents a thorough description of her application and shares some ideas for her work as a docent.

Before Recovery - A Blind Spot in Recovery Research?: Users’ Narratives About the Origins and Development of their Mental Health and/or Addiction Pro…
2021
Objective: Recently, the position of persons with mental health and drug problems has evolved from victim of an illness to holder of an experience-based knowledge (EBK). Studies about recovery are often based on recovery narratives. However, focusing on components of the recovery process—parts of this EBK concerned with the causes, onset, and journey before the proper recovery process—risks forming a blind spot. In this study, we aim to analyze service users’ EBK about recovery, the backgrounds and causes of the problems, and how they related these conditions to their recovery journey. Research Design and Methods: We interviewed 29 persons in recovery. Data were analyzed by using thematic a…
2021
