CLIL Pieeja Angļu Valodas Stundās 6. klasē Mācot Latviešu Simbolus
2022
Viens no galvenajiem CLIL pieejas māc…
Suitability of Phytosterols Alongside Fatty Acids as Chemotaxonomic Biomarkers for Phytoplankton
2016
The composition and abundance of phytoplankton is an important factor defining ecological status of marine and freshwater ecosystems. Chemotaxonomic markers (e.g., pigments and fatty acids) are needed for monitoring changes in a phytoplankton community and to know the nutritional quality of seston for herbivorous zooplankton. Here we investigated the suitability of sterols along with fatty acids as chemotaxonomic markers using multivariate statistics, by analyzing the sterol and fatty acid composition of 10 different phytoplankton classes including altogether 37 strains isolated from freshwater lakes. We were able to detect a total of 47 fatty acids and 29 sterols in our phytoplankton sampl…
Allochthony, fatty acid and mercury trends in muscle of Eurasian perch (Perca fluviatilis) along boreal environmental gradients
2022
Environmental change, including joint effects of increasing dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and total phosphorus (TP) in boreal northern lakes could potentially affects food web energy sources and the biochemical composition of organisms. These environmental stressors are enhanced by anthropogenic land-use and can decrease the quality of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in seston and zooplankton, and therefore, possibly cascading up to fish. In contrast, the content of mercury in fish increases with lake browning potentially amplified by intensive forestry practises. However, there is little evidence on how these environmental stressors simultaneously impact beneficial omega-3 fatty acid …

“Litiju saturošu keramiku cietfāžu sintēze un raksturošana”. Seņko M., darba vadītājs vadošais pētnieks Dr. chem. Zariņš A. Zinātniskie konsultanti pētniece, Mg. chem. Avotiņa L. un pētniece, Mg. chem. Trimdale A. Bakalaura darbs, 45 lapas, 31 attēls, 5 tabulas, 54 literatūras avoti, 5 pielikumi. Latviešu valodā. Literatūras apskatā apkopota informācija par procesiem kodoltermiskās sintēzes reaktoros, litiju saturošu savienojumu īpašībām un sintēzes metodēm, raksturotas darbā izmantotās analīžu metodes. Eksperimentālajā daļā ar cietfāžu sintēzes metodi ieguva vairākus litiju saturošus savienojumus, izmantojot dažādus sintēzes parametrus. Fāžu sastāva un termisko īpašību noteikšanai izmantoj…
Thermal degradation of long-chain polyunsatured fatty acids during deodorization of fish oil
2006
International audience; Long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA) of the n-3 series, particularly eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) acid, have specific activities especially in the functionality of the central nervous system. Due to the occurrence of numerous methylene-interrupted ethylenic double bonds, these fatty acids are very sensitive to air (oxygen) and temperature. Non-volatile degradation products, which include polymers, cyclic fatty acid monomers (CFAM) and geometrical isomers of EPA and DHA, were evaluated in fish oil samples obtained by deodorization under vacuum of semi-refined fish oil at 180, 220 and 250 °C. Polymers are the major degradation products g…

Sports un sabiedriskā televīzija: sporta pārraides un to nozīmība LTV saturā
2015
Fabric evolution and the related swelling behaviour of a sand/bentonite mixture upon hydro-chemo-mechanical loadings
2015
This experimental study investigates the swelling behaviour of an 80/20 sand/bentonite mixture and the associated fabric evolution under different hydro-chemo-mechanical loadings. Free and confined swelling tests are performed on specimens compacted to different dry densities and wetted with different pore fluids. Controlled suction confined swelling tests are performed to determine the suction–swelling pressure relationship for two different densities. An extensive microstructural characterisation is performed to relate the observed swelling behaviour to the evolution of the different pore networks during wetting. Based on the microstructural analysis, an expression is proposed to determi…
Hydromechanical behaviour of a volcanic ash
2013
This paper presents experimental analysis and numerical modelling aimed at improved understanding and prediction of the hydromechanical behaviour of volcanic ash at various states of saturation. Results from a comprehensive experimental programme are presented in order to characterise the response of the material in terms of matric suction and confining stress changes. The evolution of the yield stress at different suction levels has been quantified. The volumetric response with suction variations allowed the analysis of the collapse-upon-wetting behaviour. Water retention and permeability are also addressed. Tests results are used to calibrate a constitutive model based on the effective s…
Langmuir−Blodgett Films of a Mo-Blue Nanoring [Mo142O429H10(H2O)49(CH3CO2)5(CH3CH2CO2)]30- (Mo142) by the Semiamphiphilic Method
2007
Langmuir monolayers and LB films of the ring-shaped mixed-valence polyoxomolybdate [Mo142O429H10(H2O)49(CH3CO2)5(CH3CH2CO2)]30- (Mo142) dissolved in the aqueous subphase have been successfully fabricated by using the adsorption properties of a DODA monolayer. Infrared and ultraviolet−visible spectroscopy of the LB films indicates that Mo142 and DODA molecules are incorporated within these LB films. X-ray reflectivity experiments indicate that the LB films exhibit a well-defined lamellar structure formed by bilayers of DODA molecules alternating with monolayers of Mo142. Using behenic acid-modified hydrophobic quartz substrate is critical for the formation of the well-defined lamellar struct…
