Hydrocarbon chemotypes of some blackcurrant cultivars (Ribes sp)
1989
The hydrocarbon fractions of the essential oils of 11 cultivars of blackcurrant (Ribes spp) buds originating from collections in France and Australia have been submitted to GC/MS analysis. The major monoterpene and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons define chemotypes which have been conventionally described by a letter-based formula. Whereas four monoterpene chemotypes previously reported are confirmed, eight sesquiterpene chemotypes have to be redefined. They involve: δ-elemene, β-caryophyllene, γ-elemene, α-humuiene, alloaromadrene, germacrene D, γ-cadinene, and two unknowns. The different cultivars examined and their corresponding chemotypic formulae have been discriminated by principal componen…
Chemosystematic study on leaf volatile compounds of Saxifraga L. series Ceratophyllae (Saxifragaceae)
1999
Extracts from 65 samples corresponding to 13 species and 18 taxa of Saxifraga series Ceratophyllae s. l. were analysed by GC and GC/MS. This paper provides the first chemosystematic information on volatile composition of a seemingly natural group in the Saxifragaceae. Diterpenoids and n-alkanes appear to be the most important constituents and some of them are associated to different species and taxonomic series. The application of multivariate analysis techniques to GC and GC/MS data has allowed the classification of samples into two groups, corresponding approximately to the series Ceratophyllae s. str. and Pentadactyles, previously proposed on the basis of morphological and cytotaxonomica…
Catalogue of the Diptera (Insecta) of Morocco— an annotated checklist, with distributions and a bibliography
2022
The faunistic knowledge of the Diptera of Morocco recorded from 1787 to 2021 is summarized and updated in this first catalogue of Moroccan Diptera species. A total of 3057 species, classified into 948 genera and 93 families (21 Nematocera and 72 Brachycera), are listed. Taxa (superfamily, family, genus and species) have been updated according to current interpretations, based on reviews in the literature, the expertise of authors and contributors, and recently conducted fieldwork. Data to compile this catalogue were primarily gathered from the literature. In total, 1225 references were consulted and some information was also obtained from online databases. Each family was reviewed and the c…
