Transverse-momentum-dependent Multiplicities of Charged Hadrons in Muon-Deuteron Deep Inelastic Scattering

2017

A semi-inclusive measurement of charged hadron multiplicities in deep inelastic muon scattering off an isoscalar target was performed using data collected by the COMPASS Collaboration at CERN. The following kinematic domain is covered by the data: photon virtuality $Q^{2}>1$ (GeV/$c$)$^2$, invariant mass of the hadronic system $W > 5$ GeV/$c^2$, Bjorken scaling variable in the range $0.003 < x < 0.4$, fraction of the virtual photon energy carried by the hadron in the range $0.2 < z < 0.8$, square of the hadron transverse momentum with respect to the virtual photon direction in the range 0.02 (GeV/$c)^2 < P_{\rm{hT}}^{2} < 3$ (GeV/$c$)$^2$. The multiplicities are pres…

A phase I, open-label, dose-escalation trial of BI 764532, a DLL3/CD3 bispecific antibody, in patients (pts) with small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) or…

2021

TPS8588 Background: First-line standard of care for pts with metastatic SCLC and neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) is platinum-based chemotherapy ± immunotherapy. While the addition of anti-PD1 antibodies has improved outcomes, nearly all pts relapse and prognosis is poor. There is a major unmet need for additional treatment (tx) options. BI 764532 is a delta-like ligand 3 (DLL3)/CD3 T cell engaging bispecific antibody. DLL3 is expressed on the cell surface of many SCLC and NEC tumors, but not on normal cells. In preclinical studies, BI 764532 induced cytotoxicity of DLL3-positive cells and showed anti-tumor activity in animal models. Methods: NCT04429087 is a first-in-human, open-label, dose…

The Cauchy problem in hybrid metric-Palatini f(X)-gravity

2013

The well-formulation and the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem is discussed for {\it hybrid metric-Palatini gravity}, a recently proposed modified gravitational theory consisting of adding to the Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian an $f(R)$ term constructed {\it \`{a} la} Palatini. The theory can be recast as a scalar-tensor one predicting the existence of a light long-range scalar field that evades the local Solar System tests and is able to modify galactic and cosmological dynamics, leading to the late-time cosmic acceleration. In this work, adopting generalized harmonic coordinates, we show that the initial value problem can always be {\it well-formulated} and, furthermore, can be {\it well-…

Causality and Localization Operators

2005

The evolution of the expectation values of one and two points scalar field operators and of positive localization operators, generated by an istantaneous point source is non local. Non locality is attributed either to zero point vacuum fluctuations, or to non local operations or to the microcausality principle being no satisfied.

The prediction of the nuclear quadrupole splitting of 119Sn Mössbauer spectroscopy data by scalar relativistic DFT calculations.

2006

The electric field gradient components for the tin nucleus of 34 tin compounds of experimentally known structures and Sn-119 Mossbauer spectroscopy parameters were computed at the scalar relativistic density functional theory level of approximation. The theoretical values of the electric field gradient components were used to determine a quantity, V, which is proportional to the nuclear quadrupole splitting parameter (Delta E). In a subsequent linear regression analysis the effective nuclear quadrupole moment, Q, was evaluated. The value of (11.9 +/- 0.1) fm(2) is a significant improvement over the non-relativistic result of (15.2 +/- 4.4) fm(2) and is in agreement with the experimental val…

Numerical 3D modelling of turbulent melt flow in a large CZ system with horizontal DC magnetic field. II. Comparison with measurements

2004

This paper presents a comparison between numerically calculated and measured temperature distributions in turbulent flow in a laboratory model for a CZ large silicon single crystal industrial growth system with a horizontal DC magnetic field. The laboratory model consists of an electrically heated 20” crucible with low-temperature InGaSn melt, a water-cooled metallic crystal model, and a magnet system creating a horizontal magnetic field in the range 0–. Distributions of time-averaged temperature values in various cross sections in the melt are obtained from measurements by a multichannel thermocouple system. A 3D numerical model for the scalar potential induced in the melt by the velocity …
