Dallo «Scientific American» ai versi di Primo Levi
2021
Generating students' information seeking questions in the scholar lab: what benefits can we expect from inquiry teaching approaches?
2013
ABSTARCT: Physics teachers use experimental devices to show students how scientific concepts, principles, and laws are applied to understand the real world. This paper studies question generation of secondary and under-graduate university students when they are confronted with experimental devices in different but usual teaching situations: reading about devices while studying still images or diagrams, watching an experimental demonstration, and handling the devices in the laboratory. The influence of the prior scientific knowledge on the questions asked is also analysed. Inquiry learning environments, involving lab projects, seemed to stimulate more inferences addressed to causality when s…
New Innovation Identification Approach Development Matrix
2018
Innovations have become one of the contemporary economics key driving forces behind competitive advantages and have become socioeconomic category of their own. Diffusion of innovations, which is an integral part of the scientific and technological base of national economies, promotes structural changes in economy. Companies have to pay close attention to market trends and have to be able to identify and create new innovations, thus increasing their competitiveness and meeting consumer demands and expectations. The objective of this research is to evaluate the concept of different innovations in organizations and propose a complex approach to identifying innovations in the form of a matrix t…
Intelligent learning environment for better student’s academic performance
2021
In this paper, the authors aim to develop an intelligent learning environment model designed to improve students’ academic performance. Methodology: Referring to the litarature, the authors identified and analyzed a number of relevant issues that influence the specific components of an intelligent learning environment. These aspects were quantified using performance indicators defined on the basis of the specific objectives of each aspect chosen. Results: Following the analysis, the authors developed a model of intelligent learning space, and for its representation, we used conceptual modeling. Conclusions: Finally, the authors propose the prevalidation of the model using the dynamic modeli…
Modeling and Analysis of a New Process for Pyruvate Production
2005
Early process development is crucial for the economic and environmental performance of a final production process. A new process for the production of pyruvate is presented as a case study to show how process modeling and an analysis of the results regarding economic and environmental aspects improves the understanding of the process, its cost structure, and its environmental impact. It also enables the quantification of process improvements and the comparison of alternative designs. The model of the pyruvate production shows how strain and fermentation improvements propagate through the process and affect its economic and environmental performance. The comparison of two alternative purific…
A Conceptual Model of Product Design
2013
The paper presents a conceptual model that pursues the understanding of the activities, the phases and the mechanisms of product design. The purpose of this model is to aid the product conception phase, as well as to develop software products that can furthermore aid design. The model takes into account the entire mental potential of the human being. The paper uses Jung's model in order to describe the various aspects of the human psyche. The paper presents a number of design models from the scientific literature. The proposed model defines domains of the needs imposed by stakeholders and specialists, functions domains and product domains. It explains the mechanism through which information…
