Background Biological databases and repositories are incrementing in diversity and complexity over the years. This rapid expansion of current and new sources of biological knowledge raises serious problems of data accessibility and integration. To handle the growing necessity of unification, CellBase was created as an integrative solution. CellBase provides a centralized NoSQL database containing biological information from different and heterogeneous sources. Computer-supported collaboration in a scripted 3-D game environment

The particular focus of this paper is on scripting collaboration in a 3-D virtual game environment intended to make learning more effective, but also take into account the risk of over-scripting learning. The empirical experiment eScape, which encourages learners to solve problems collaboratively, is also presented. This study attempts to find out whether the features of 3-D games can be used to create meaningful scripted collaborative learning environments. The results indicated that scripting persuaded student teams to enter into collaboration, but the actual processes varied.

Scripted Collaboration and Group‐Based Variations in a Higher Education CSCL Context

Scripting student activities is one way to make Computer‐Supported Collaborative Learning more efficient. This case study examines how scripting guided student group activities and also how different groups interpreted the script; what kinds of roles students adopted and what kinds of differences there were between the groups in terms of their activities. Seven small groups of higher education students participated in the study. Examining the link between integrated communication management and communication effectiveness in medium-sized enterprises

On the basis of a framework for integrated communication management (ICM) derived from perspectives in the integrated marketing communications and communication management literature, we tested various hypotheses concerning the link between ICM and communication effectiveness. The hypotheses were tested on a sample of 642 Swiss-based companies, with a focus on medium-sized enterprises.
