This is an abstract that was submitted for the 2016 ARVO Annual Meeting, held in Seattle, Wash., May 1-5, 2016.; Purpose: Plasmalogens (or ether-lipids) are a particular class of glycerophospholipids characterized by the presence of a vinyl-ether bond at the sn-1 position of the glycerol backbone and by the preferential esterification of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) at the sn-2 position. Plasmalogens are found at high concentrations in retinal macroglial cells such as Müller cells and astrocytes. Optisks čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatora mitruma sensors

Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek pētīti čukstošās galerijas modu (ČGM) mikrorezonatori un to pielietojums gaisa mitruma kontrolei un mērīšanai. ČGM rodas, kad gludas virsmas optiskajos dobumos notiek konstruktīva interference. Rezultātā rezonatorā paliek tikai noteikti viļņu garumi, kas atkarīgi no rezonatora izmēra un laušanas koeficienta. Līdz ar to, ja kāds no šiem parametriem gaisa mitruma izmaiņu dēļ mainās, rezonatoru var izmantot kā mitruma sensoru. Eksperimentam izvēlēts glicerīna piliens, kurā ČGM rezonanses ierosinātas ar skenējamu pusvadītāju lāzeru. Izveidota eksperimentāla iekārta, ar kuru var pētīt šāda veida mitruma sensoru. La presente tesi di dottorato analizza i processi traduttivi nelle lingue segnate, indagando la maniera di (re-)enunciare il senso in traduzione. La riflessione si costruisce come dialogo fra la linguistica delle lingue segnate e la traduttologia, a partire da presupposti teorici comuni a entrambe le discipline benché differentemente declinati, come il concetto di oralità. Lo studio, che intende definirsi come non assimilazionista (così come auspicato da C. The precise detection of cancer cells currently remains a global challenge. One-dimensional (1D) semiconductor nanostructures (e.g., ZnO nanorods) have attracted attention due to their potential use in cancer biosensors. In the current study, it was demonstrated that the possibility of a photoluminescent detection of human leukemic T-cells by using a zinc oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs) platform. Monoclonal antibodies (MABs) anti-CD5 against a cluster of differentiation (CD) proteins on the pathologic cell surface have been used as a bioselective layer on the ZnO surface.
