Supercontinuum generation in chalcogenide: application to gas spectroscopy in atmospheric band III

This thesis work aims to contribute to the development of new fiber sources emitting over a wide range of wavelengths in the IR, in particular to detect greenhouse gases in the mid-infrared range. Our spectroscopy results with nitrous oxide N2O and methane CH4 are obtained in band III. To achieve this, the generation of supercontinuum (SC) covering band III was made possible by using chalcogenide optical fibers, purified and free of highly toxic elements according to REACH regulations, in particular arsenic and antimony. Cheese flavour has been widely studied and key-aroma compounds identified. However the strategies involved were mostly correlation studies between quantitative measurements of aroma compounds and either gas chromatography olfactometry (GC-O) data or sensory data. These correlations do not take in account the differences in the Stevens’ slopes relating sensory perception and concentration and perception thresholds. The main goal of this work is to determine theoretically the capability of REG techniques to reflect intracranial blood flow. Methods : Head and current injection electrodes were computationally modeled to assess REG sensitivity to brain and scalp conductivity changes. Abstract The improvement of nucleic acid probes as vital molecular engineering devices will cause a noteworthy contribution to developments in bioimaging, biosensing, and disorders diagnosis. The molecular beacon (MB) which was designed by Tyagi and Kramer in 1996, are loop-stem hairpin-designed oligonucleotides armed with a quencher and a dye (also named reporter groups) at the 3′ or 5′ ends. This construction allows that MBs in the absence of their target complementary molecules do not fluoresce. Determination of the adiabatic compressibility of bovine serum albumen in concentrated solution by a new ultrasonic method

Abstract New data are presented for the adiabatic compressibility of bovine serum albumen (BSA) over the temperature range 2–85°C and at pH 5, 6, 7 and 8. The relative impact of intrinsic and hydration contributions to the observed compressibility for BSA is estimated and shown to agree very well with general values for globular protein and with previous results for BSA. The compressibility manifests a maximum value in the regions where BSA is most stable, exhibiting a parabolic dependence on temperature with lowest values where it is least stable.
