Shakespeare a part: Scenes of Translation in Jean-Luc Godard's Bande a part and the Nouvelle Vague
2018
The article explores the "otherness" of Shakespeare in some films of the nouvelle vague of the early sixties, and argues that this otherness is bound up with processes of cultural translation involving different kinds of movements (i.e., across cultures, languages as well as media boundaries
Traumatic Redemption Chronotope as Theoretical Model to Study Serial Shakespeares

his article proposes a methodology to study Shakespearean intertexts in contemporary complex TV series. While the presence of Shakespeare’s inter-texts in contemporary complex TV seems ubiquitous, a sustained and theoretically focused academic study of the impact of Shakespeare in these works has not been produced. Reviewers and social media users’ comments have proposed readings of the series pointing at the importance of the series’ redemptive qualities. Taking Hannah Wolfe Eisner’s “Into the Middle of Things: Traumatic Redemption and the Politics of Form” as basis, I am presenting a theoretical model to study serial Shakespeares, with which I am referr…

There's A Ghost In Every Mirror: The Identity of the Ghost In Hamlet
2009
Shakespeare in the Extreme: Addiction, Ghosts and (Re)Mediation in Alexander Fodor’s Hamlet
2011
This article is an analysis of Fodor's filmic version of Hamlet as simultaneously reverent and irreverent toward the canonical status of the Bard. It shows how Hamlet is being recycled by being brought into contact with contemporary citational environments, from pop music to drug culture.
Consistent shakedown theorems for materials with temperature dependent yield functions
2000
The (elastic) shakedown problem for structures subjected to loads and temperature variations is addressed in the hypothesis of elastic-plastic rate-independent associative material models with temperature-dependent yield functions. Assuming the yield functions convex in the stress/temperature space, a thermodynamically consistent small-deformation thermo-plasticity theory is provided, in which the set of state and evolutive variables includes the temperature and the plastic entropy rate. Within the latter theory the known static (Prager's) and kinematic (König's) shakedown theorems - which hold for yield functions convex in the stress space - are restated in an appropriate consistent format…
On the Conditions to Prevent Plastic Shakedown of Structures: Part I—Theory
1993
For a structure of elastic perfectly plastic material subjected to a given cyclic (mechanical and/or kinematical) load and to a steady (mechanical) load, the conditions are established in which plastic shakedown cannot occur whatever the steady load, and thus the structure is safe against the alternating plasticity collapse. Static and kinematic theorems, analogous to those of classical shakedown theory, are presented.
A Study on Plastic Shakedown of Structures: Part I—Basic Properties
1993
For a continuous elastic-perfectly plastic solid body subjected to a combination of cyclic (mechanical and/or kinematical) load and of a steady (mechanical) load such as to produce plastic shakedown (i.e., alternating plasticity), a number of characterizing properties are established and discussed. The conditions for the body’s transition from plastic shakedown to ratchetting are also addressed.
A Study on Plastic Shakedown of Structures: Part II—Theorems
1993
For a continuous elastic-perfectly plastic solid body subjected to a combination of cyclic (mechanical and/or kinematical) load and of a steady (mechanical) load, two theorems of plastic shakedown are presented, one stating a necessary condition, another stating a sufficient condition. The problem of the direct determination of the plastic shakedown boundary is also briefly addressed.
