Unilateral submandibular gland aplasia with ipsilateral sublingual gland hypertrophy presenting as a neck mass
2010
The congenital absence off the major salivary glands is a very infrequent disorder, in which several glands are usually involved at the same time. Sometimes this disorder can be associated with other developmental anomalies. The unilateral aplasia of the submandibular gland is an extremely rare finding with only 14 cases reported in the literature. Clinically, this kind of patients may complain of dryness of the mouth, difficulties in chewing and swallowing, severe periodontal disease or multiple caries, but usually they follow an asymptomatic course. Salivary gland aplasia can be diagnosed with a large variety off imaging techniques, which include computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonan…
Sacīkstes princips civilprocesā
2018

Human asialoglycoprotein receptor as an autoantigen in chronic hepatitis.
1991
ASGPR may play a role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune chronic liver diseases. Several lines of evidence support this hypothesis. Antibodies to rabbit ASGPR could be found in various inflammatory liver diseases. In contrast, ASGPR preparations derived from human liver (h-ASGPR) were recognized predominantly by sera from patients with ai-CAH. Moreover, anti-h-ASGPR showed a close correlation to the inflammatory activity of ai-CAH both in terms of prevalence (88% in histologically proven active diseases), immunoglobulin class (IgM antibodies restricted to active inflammation) and behavior during treatment. Anti-h-ASGPR secretion could also be found in vitro, when PBL of patients were stimula…
Investigation of the aqueous transmetalation of π-allylpalladium with indium salt: the use of the Pd(OAc)2–TPPTS catalyst
2005
pi-Allylpalladium complexes could be generated in water by the palladium(0) water soluble catalyst prepared in situ from palladium acetate and TPPTS. These complexes were transmetalated with indium to react with benzaldehyde. The aqueous solution of Pd(0)(TPPTS)(n) could be reused without deterioration of the catalyst in the first and second recycling. The system proved to be efficient with primary and secondary allylic substrates. The stereochemical outcome of the allylation through umpolung of allylpalladium, was also studied using models with a restraint conformation.
Factors influencing the interaction of herpes simplex virus glycoprotein C with the third component of complement.
1992
The factors influencing the interaction of herpes simplex virus (HSV) glycoprotein C (gC) with the third component of complement (C3) were investigated in this study. The ability of gC of HSV type 1 (gC-1) to bind to the C3b fragment of C3 was found to be influenced by cell specific processing of gC-1 in a different manner, binding being remarkably enhanced in some cell lines following removal of sialic acid residues. Testing several intertypic recombinants of HSV we found that only strains expressing gC-1 exhibited binding to C3b, even though their genome consisted mainly of HSV-2 sequences in some recombinants. Expression of type-2 glycoproteins gB, gD, gE, gG, gH, and gI did not alter th…
A Trisialoganglioside Containing a Sialyl α2-6 N-Acetylgalactosamine Residue Is a Cholinergic-Specific Antigen, Chol-1α1
1992
Cholinergic-specific antigens termed the Chol-1 family have been suggested to be of a ganglioside nature by Richardson et al. (J. Neurochem. 38, 1605-1614, 1982). Two molecular species of polysialogangliosides among bovine brain gangliosides were found to react with anti-Chol-1 alpha antiserum. One of them, Chol-1 alpha-a, was isolated and characterized as a trisialoganglioside containing the gangliotetraose backbone in which 1 mol of sialic acid was attached to each of the reducing end galactose, N-acetylgalactosamine and internal galactose residues, respectively. The chemical structure of Chol-1 alpha-a was determined for the first time, being as follows: IV3NeuAc III6NeuAc II3NeuAc-GgOse…
The apolipoprotein(a) moiety of lipoprotein(a) interacts with the complement activation fragment iC3b but does not functionally affect C3 activation …
1992
A previous study has shown that complement component C3 binds to recombinant apolipoprotein(a) (r-apo(a)). In the present report we have investigated the interactions between lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)), r-apo(a) and C3 in relation to complement activation and degradation. Neither Lp(a) nor r-apo(a) affected complement activation as indicated by sheep and rabbit red blood cell hemolytic assays, and by assessment of the amount of C3a generated in zymosan-activated human serum in the presence or absence of Lp(a). Crossed immunoelectrophoretic analyses indicated that Lp(a) retarded the migration of iC3b in complement-activated serum but had no effects on C3, C3b, C3c or C3dg. Recombinant apo(a) exh…
Spacer-separated sialyl LewisX cyclopeptide conjugates as potential E-selectin ligands.
2006
Completely protected sialyl LewisX azide was synthesized from a neolactosamine azide precursor carrying a 3-O-allyloxycarbonyl group as the temporary protecting group. After its Pd(0)-catalyzed deprotection and stereoselective alpha-fucosylation, the obtained LewisX azide was subjected to O-deacetylation in the galactose unit and subsequent regio- and stereoselective sialylation. Reduction of the anomeric azido group afforded the sialyl LewisX amine building block. Two molecules of this tetrasaccharide ligand were conjugated to a preformed cyclooctapeptide containing two equidistant l-asparagine units equipped with carboxy-terminated tetraethyleneglycol side chains to give, after deprotecti…
Revisors holdning til digitalisering i revisjon : En studie om revisors holdninger til digitaliseringen, og hvordan disse påvirker implementeringen a…
2020
Master's thesis in Accounting and auditing (BE508) Temaet for masteroppgaven er revisors holdning til digitalisering i revisjon.
