LaXp180, a mammalian ActA-binding protein, identified with the yeast two-hybrid system, co-localizes with intracellular Listeria monocytogenes

2001

The Listeria monocytogenes surface protein ActA is an important virulence factor required for listerial intracellular movement by inducing actin polymerization. The only host cell protein known that directly interacts with ActA is the phosphoprotein VASP, which binds to the central proline-rich repeat region of ActA. To identify additional ActA-binding proteins, we applied the yeast two-hybrid system to search for mouse proteins that interact with ActA. A mouse cDNA library was screened for ActA-interacting proteins (AIPs) using ActA from strain L. monocytogenes EGD as bait. Three different AIPs were identified, one of which was identical to the human protein LaXp180 (also called CC1). Bind…

NMR structure of a non-conjugatable, ADP-ribosylation associated, ubiquitin-like domain from Tetrahymena thermophila polyubiquitin locus.

2019

Abstract Background Ubiquitin-like domains (UbLs), in addition to being post-translationally conjugated to the target through the E1-E2-E3 enzymatic cascade, can be translated as a part of the protein they ought to regulate. As integral UbLs coexist with the rest of the protein, their structural properties can differ from canonical ubiquitin, depending on the protein context and how they interact with it. In this work, we investigate T.th-ubl5, a UbL present in a polyubiquitin locus of Tetrahymena thermophila, which is integral to an ADP-ribosyl transferase protein. Only one other co-occurrence of these two domains within the same protein has been reported. Methods NMR, multiple sequence al…

Du verbe instrumental dans la musique subsaharienne

2021

Sub-Saharan music results from the spoken language/instrumental language relation, directed by an oral culture. In this culture, these languages transmit ? beyond their singularities ? messages thanks to either a coded signal known by the linguistic community or previously defined among a group of individuals, or is used as a true meta-language copied on the articulated and usual language used every day. Here, an instrumental musical speech can then imitate and reproduce the tonal inflexions of the language to make its matter understandable. This fact is the natural result of a strong interaction and interrelation between the spoken language and the music as well as the conception that the …

This fact is the natural result of a strong interaction and interrelation between the spoken language and the music as well as the conception that the Africans of South Sahara have of it. This concept underlying the very tight link between the musical fact and the Worddetermine and contribute to the distinctive goals of the speech? These are some of the major questions to which I the author try to bring elements of answers to clear up this subject. 145 1642386-8260 13268 ItamarApollinaire Sub-Saharan music results from the spoken language/instrumental language relation:CIENCIAS DE LAS ARTES Y LAS LETRAS [UNESCO]territorios para el arte 590908 2021 7 8182063 Du verbe instrumental dans la musique subsaharienne Anakesa Kululuka [revista de investigación musical]these languages transmit ? beyond their singularities ? messages thanks to either a coded signal known by the linguistic community or previously defined among a group of individualsdirected by an oral culture. Characterization of dual-polarization analogue radio over fiber fronthaul for LTE C-RAN architecture

2016

NOSIP, a novel modulator of endothelial nitric oxide synthase activity.

2001

Production of nitric oxide (NO) in endothelial cells is regulated by direct interactions of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) with effector proteins such as Ca2+-calmodulin, by posttranslational modifications such as phosphorylation via protein kinase B, and by translocation of the enzyme from the plasma membrane caveolae to intracellular compartments. Reversible acylation of eNOS is thought to contribute to the intracellular trafficking of the enzyme; however, protein factor(s) that govern the translocation of the enzyme are still unknown. Here we have used the yeast two-hybrid system and identified a novel 34 kDa protein, termed NOSIP (eNOS interacting protein), which avidly binds …

dsRNA induces apoptosis through an atypical death complex associating TLR3 to caspase-8

2012

Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) is a pattern-recognition receptor known to initiate an innate immune response when stimulated by double-stranded RNA (dsRNA). Components of TLR3 signaling, including TIR domain-containing adapter inducing IFN-α (TRIF), have been demonstrated to contribute to dsRNA-induced cell death through caspase-8 and receptor interacting protein (RIP)1 in various human cancer cells. We provide here a detailed analysis of the caspase-8 activating machinery triggered in response to Poly(I:C) dsRNA. Engagement of TLR3 by dsRNA in both type I and type II lung cancer cells induces the formation of an atypical caspase-8-containing complex that is devoid of classical death receptors…

Continuous monitoring of an intentionally-manufactured crack using an automated welding and in-process inspection system

2020

Abstract Automated weld deposition coupled with the real-time robotic Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) is used in this paper. For performance verification of the in-process inspection system, an intentionally embedded defect, a tungsten rod, is introduced into the multi-pass weld. A partially-filled groove (staircase) sample is also manufactured and ultrasonically tested to calibrate the real-time inspection implemented on all seven layers of the weld which are deposited progressively. The tungsten rod is successfully detected in the real-time NDE of the deposited position. The same robotic inspection system was then used to continuously monitor an intentionally-manufactured crack for 20 h.…
