An architecture for observational learning and decision making based on internal models

We present a cognitive architecture whose main constituents are allowed to grow through a situated experience in the world. Such an architectural growth is bootstrapped from a minimal initial knowledge and the architecture itself is built around the biologically-inspired notion of internal models. The key idea, supported by findings in cognitive neuroscience, is that the same internal models used in overt goal-directed action execution can be covertly re-enacted in simulation to provide a unifying explanation to a number of apparently unrelated individual and social phenomena, such as state estimation, action and intention understanding, imitation learning and mindreading. Settore IUS/17 - Diritto PenaleThe paper analyses the offence of unlawful work intermediation and exploitation offering a comparative analysis with the German punitive system. The study focuses in particular on the limits of legitimacy of criminal law in the punishment of gangmaster acts in the attempt to avoid that the punitive intervention in economic and contractual dynamics of a mutual nature could be so intrusive to be in contrast with the principle of subsidiarity. To this end the author suggests an interpretative perspective that centres the penal disvalue of the offence under article 603-bis of the criminal code on the harm to fundamental workers’ rights – as linked to articles 4 35 and 36 of the Italian Constitutions – which work as a limit to entrepreneurial freedom. To be sure the indexes of exploitation listed by the criminalising norm seem to echo those fundamental human rights attributed to a person as a worker: those very same rights that – when harmed in their minimal and therefore intangible dimension – legitimise the intervention of the ius terribile. The article also stresses the protection of the job market: in this sense the offence – even if situated within the Kernstrafrecht – represents a new paradigm of the institutional response within the framework of the contemporary relationships between law and economics.

The aim of this chapter is to underscore a series of significant philosophical flaws encountered in current research devoted to neuroscience and neuroethics, and furthermore to challenge the neuroessentialist paradigm that locates subjectivity within the confines of the brain. Experience, Subjectivity and Politics in the Italian Feminist Movement

This article describes the political practices of a part of the Italian women’s movement that, as of the 1980s, gave way to the sexual difference thought. Through a political analysis of their own experience, which removed any humanist identity assumptions, the women’s movement generated new practices and discourses. With these, women were able to exert self-criticism, and simultaneously to produce new subjectivities articulated around the sexual difference concept. The Union of Comoros comprises three of the four islands of the Comorian archipelago, which is situated halfway between the East African coast and the northern tip of Madagascar. Official languages are French, Arabic, and Comorian, the latter of which is the everyday language of the people. Comorian is a Bantu language closely related to Swahili that can be subdivided into different dialects: Ngazija/Shingazija on Grande Comore, Ndzwani/Shindzwani on Anjouan, and Shimwali on Moheli.

In the final chapter, the contemporary situation of parliamentary politics is discussed. The chances and limits of the parliamentary ideal type are situated to the current horizons of Western European politics.
