The present paper aims to identify the causes of under-representation of women in E-sports. According to a genre perspective, interest in videogames at the amateur level is quite similar. However, in its professional level, female participation becomes very limited. Drivers’ experiences during floods: Investigating the psychological influences underpinning decisions to avoid driving through floodwater

Abstract A major risk factor for many flood-related drownings is driving through floodwater. We aimed to understand Australian drivers’ experiences and beliefs with respect to avoid driving through floodwater using the theory of planned behaviour as a framework. Study 1 (N = 23) used a qualitative design to gain an in-depth understanding of individuals’ experiences with driving through floodwater. Study 2 (N = 157) used a survey-based design to identify the factors related to this behaviour including knowledge, beliefs, and social-cognitive factors. The article concerns the role of communication skills needed in the work of the social pedagog. The authors depict how important are social skills, especially those related to communication, pedagogs’ and therapists’ work. The paper presents different concepts and views on the preparation and aptitudes they should have social pedagogs. Later in the article the authors describe some therapeutic skills such as: the skill of reacting, solicitude and acceptance, empathic understanding, the skill of observation, the skill of listening ora the skill of speaking, which are important in work.

The paper deals with the issue of foster care as a form of substitute family care in the Czech Republic. In the introduction, the author draws attention to the changes in numbers of children placed in institutions providing institutional care after the amendment o f the Act on Social and Legał Protection of Children No. 401/2012 Coli., with subsequent amendments. This thesis is in the form of a monograph consisting of three distinct, but related studies. The three studies examined Grade 1 teachers’ knowledge and perceptions of reading instruction in classrooms in Namibia; and the use of GraphoGame in Afrikaans as a digital learning tool and as an intervention tool for struggling readers. Three data sets were collected: teachers (N = 132), children (N = 202) and struggling readers (N = 19). The results offered three main findings. The article is based on the hermeneutic phenomenological approach in action research.
