The Exclusion of Women from Inheritance Rights: An Unresolved Issue?

In Italy, the women's exclusion from the inheritance is the principle that structures the property system of the families in medieval and early modern age and the social and juridical organization of these centuries, until the XIX century. Despite its importance, the exclusion of the women has never been an autonomous historiographical issue, but it has been ignored to advantage of analysis centered on the dowry system: emphasis has been placed mainly on the property rights of the women instead of observing the marginalization of the female part of lineages respect to the family wealths. Extending the semiotics of embodied interaction to blended spaces.

In this paper, we develop a new way of understanding interactions in blended spaces. We do this by developing ideas about embodied semiotics and then apply these ideas to the analysis of interaction in mixed-reality blended spaces (where the physical world and digital world are blended deliberately to provide new forms of interaction). We discuss how blended spaces provide a new medium within which people have experiences. The semiotic analysis reveals how blended spaces are constructed across the physical and the digital, highlighting the ontology, topology, volatility, and agency present within them. Sports, morality and body: the voices of sportswomen under Franco's dictatorship

The aim of this research is to study sportswomen’s perceptions and experiences of women’s sport in Francoist Spain (1939–1975). The main objective is to analyse the social, moral and aesthetic elements that are present in the experience of these athletes. This study was carried out with an intentional sample of 24 women from Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Basque Country, Catalonia and Valencia. They were interviewed by a network of researchers from six universities. Different sources (epigraphical, literary, apocryphal) can be used to analyse the Christian heretical sects connected to an enkratite movement (Enkratites, Apotactites, Sakkophoroi, Hydroparastatai, Aerians), which was characterised by radical forms of self-restraint (enkrateia). Epigraphical documents are helpful in setting these communities in the rural background of late antique Anatolia (4th-5th cent. AD). On the other side the apocryphal acts of the apostles offer important hints on social and economic ideas developed by Enkratites and throw new light on their specific Christian Weltanschauung.
