Significati vecchi e nuovi di ideologia: una rassegna

2020

Old ideologies, defined as «grand narratives», seem to have faded away, but this is not a conclusive argument to state that ideology has, itself, disappeared. In fact, there are strong reasons to believe that it has not. In the first part, this article offers a synthetic survey of some of the most significant conceptions of ideology in order to avoid the confusion generated by uncritical uses of the term. The vantage point of the analysis is the fundamental conceptual opposition between «ideology» and «praxis» («truth», or «reality»). The second part of the article opens up some questions about how the new forms of ideology may thrive in the new spaces created by the communication technolog…

At the time of globalization, structural change occurred with the advent of the technological revolution, the subsequent introduction of innovative tools in teaching, have transformed the concept of learning. At the web's century youngers, "digital natives", are creating a kind of "parallel school" not only to access to knowledge, to collaborate with users and discuss, but also to teach and learn languages through social networks, blogs, fora and communities, as if they were in a virtual classroom. As to the acquisition of Spanish as a L2, analysing the most rec…

Facebook as a Small World: a topological hypothesis

2011

Facebook is becoming a pervasive entity as its social, cultural and media ramifications grow deep and entrenched in our daily life. Its nature of a complex system of interactions, bearing a strong similarity to networks built through individual choices and systems shaped by evolu- tionary pressure, makes it an interesting target for research. Scale-free Small World networks, recently popularized by Barabasi, are a topological class pertaining to both these domains, whose members have resilience to disruption and short intermediate connections between nodes. In this paper we show that the topological structure of a specific subset of Facebook, gathered using data from a self-report online qu…

Creazione di collegamenti a scambio di informazione nei social network. Una simulazione agent-based con metodologia soft computing.

2015

Studying micro-communities in Facebook Communities

2018

In the visionary view of the future Internet, named the Next Generation Internet, a current idea is to have a user-centric approach where human behavior models will be used to define the networks or to manage services. During the last years, a great trend in current Social Media platforms is to offer the opportunity to establish and join groups of people online. Despite human behaviour in current Online Social Media have been studied in depth, characteristics of these aggregations of people in content-based communities are still unknown. In this paper, we propose an evaluation of micro-communities of users inside the big network of Facebook groups to understand how and when users are active…

Ranking-based Ties Social Networks : an illustration based on a system of Fashion Capital Cities in the world.

2012

Our paper aims to apply a non-conventional Social Network Analysis to a network generated from an initial sorting of data with mere order. The aim is to test whether and how one relationship set 'conveniently' generated by the ranking is able to provide a coherent system of interactions with possible practical and theoretical utility. We consider a system of city distributions where we focus on ¿Ranking-Based Ties¿ social networks, considering a system of 'objects' of the same class that would be able to interact. The objects in question are ordered according to their 'performance' in a particular ranking. According to a survey developed by Global Langu…

Identifying the k Best Targets for an Advertisement Campaign via Online Social Networks

2020

We propose a novel approach for the recommendation of possible customers (users) to advertisers (e.g., brands) based on two main aspects: (i) the comparison between On-line Social Network profiles, and (ii) neighborhood analysis on the On-line Social Network. Profile matching between users and brands is considered based on bag-of-words representation of textual contents coming from the social media, and measures such as the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency are used in order to characterize the importance of words in the comparison. The approach has been implemented relying on Big Data Technologies, allowing this way the efficient analysis of very large Online Social Networks. Resul…
