Il testo propone un articolato commento alle posizioni teoriche e alle linee di ricerca progettuale espresse da Michele Argentino, professore ordinario di Design a Palermo circa la necessità di riconquistare il ruolo sociale alla creatività individuale, riprendendosi il desiderio di diventare nuovamente "Homo Faber". Il testo inoltre presenta gli obiettivi della nuova collana scientifica - diretta dall'autrice - dal Titolo " Design e Contesti": intercettare ambiti di ricerca trasversali alle discipline del progetto, favorire gli intrecci tra idee progettuali e percorsi di innovazione socio-culturale, sviluppare nuove strategie produttive compatibili con i diversi aspetti della sostenibilità.

Resumen: Este articulo surge de una experiencia y reflexion personal como artista y profesora en formacion, que plantea la crisis cultural y educativa en Chile como el contexto donde opera el sistema tanto artistico como educacional, y que ante la emergencia cultural, desde el rol social del artista surge la necesidad de educar como la unica solucion. This thesis presents a comparison between two culturally different countries in terms of gender differences causing inequality in the working and domestic life. France, one of the pioneer countries in terms of fighting for women’s rights, but at the same time strongly paternalistic and chauvinist as a result of its Latin culture, is compared to Finland, considered as an example for gender equality.
