2022
Without wishing in any way to interfere in the substance of the legislation of local authorities in failure, this work concerns the possible contribution that the Extraordinary Liquidation Body (OSL) can make to the municipal government bodies on the rebalancing of a local authority. The starting point of the research project is the formalization of the declaration of bankruptcy approved by the City Council. Its evolutionary prospects are the measures launched in the context of extraordinary management entrusted to a liquidation body at the same time as the preparation of the hypothesis of permanently-rebalanced budget by the competence of the governing bodies in office. In parallel with th…
uality Evaluation of “Tardivo di Ciaculli” Mandarins in Post-Harvest Processing on an Industrial Scale Using a Portable Vis/NIR Device
2016
Abstract. Vis/NIR technology is widely used today to quickly and non-destructively evaluate fruit and vegetable qualities, and many applications have been found since the 1990s. However, no industrial-scale applications can further consolidate the use of non-destructive techniques in post-harvest processing. This study aims to test the possibility of applying vis/NIR technology in a modern citrus-processing plant to assess the damage that the fruits eventually suffer when they are processed on an industrial scale and the evolution of their key quality parameters in a period of 10 days after harvest. The spectral acquisitions were performed using a portable vis/NIR device, which operated in …

STORIA DI UNA FRATELLANZA CULTURALE SORTA DALLE MACERIE DEL TERREMOTO DI MESSINA
2009
Usurping the victim's trauma narrative: Victim blaming and slut-shaming on season 1 of You
2020
The American TV series You (2018-) has been the subject of a heated debate on both social media and Academia in regard to its ambiguous approach to feminism and gender violence, due to its prioritization of the perpetrator’s voice over the victim’s (Rajiva and Patrick 2019). In the present context of feminist activism, with movements such as #MeToo and Time’s Up fostering female solidarity and giving voice to survivors of sexual violence, the series appears to have an opposite, and even sexist, agenda. Drawing on the concept of ‘trauma narratives’ (Vickroy 2004; Kohlke and Gutleben 2010), I argue that the first season of the show fails to grant the female victim, Beck, a therapeutic space w…
Sharing Sociology.
The work is interested to role of communication in main themes of a Sharing sociology that is in elaboration in France, in socioanthropological and communicative perspective, but over all in a political one.
Amorphous Silica at Surfaces and Interfaces: Simulation Studies
2003
The structure of surfaces and interfaces of silica (SiO2) is investigated by large scale molecular dynamics computer simulations. In the case of a free silica surface, the results of a classical molecular dynamics simulation are compared to those of an ab initio method, the Car—Parrinello molecular dynamics. This comparative study allows to check the accuracy of the model potential that underlies the classical simulation. By means of a pure classical MD, the interface between amorphous and crystalline SiO2 is investigated, and as a third example the structure of a silica melt between walls is studied in equilibrium and under shear. We show that in the latter three examples important structu…
Do we understand the solid-like elastic properties of confined liquids?
2021
Recently, in polymeric liquids, unexpected solid-like shear elasticity has been discovered, which gave rise to a controversial discussion about its origin (1⇓–3). The observed solid-like shear modulus G depends strongly on the distance L between the plates of the rheometer according to a power law G ∝ L − p with a nonuniversal exponent ranging between p = 2 and p = 3 . Zaccone and Trachenko (4) have published an article in which they claim to explain these findings by a nonaffine contribution to the liquid shear modulus. The latter is represented as Δ G ∝ − ∑ λ = L , T 1 V … [↵][1]1To whom correspondence may be addressed. Email: giancarlo.ruocco{at}roma1.infn.it. [1]: #xref-corresp-1-1
