INFLUENCE OF THE CHEMICAL POTENTIAL ON THE CARRIER EFFECTIVE MASS IN THE THERMOELECTRIC SOLID SOLUTION Cu2Zn1-xFexGeSe4
2013
In this paper, we describe the synthesis and characterization of the solid solution Cu 2 Zn 1-x Fe x GeSe 4. Electronic transport data have been analyzed using a single parabolic band model and have been compared to Cu 2+x Zn 1-x GeSe 4. The effective mass of these undoped, intrinsically hole conducting materials increases linearly with increasing carrier concentration, showing a non-parabolic transport behavior within the valence band.
Band-to-Band and Band-to-Acceptor Photoluminescence Studies in InSe under Pressure
1999
We report on photoluminescence (PL) measurements under pressure on p-type N-doped InSe at 10 K and on n-type Si-doped InSe at room temperature. Low-temperature PL of N-doped InSe is dominated by a band-to-acceptor peak. From the pressure dependence of the ionization energy of the N related shallow acceptor, the pressure change of the hole effective mass is estimated through the Gerlach-Pollmann model for hydrogenic levels in uniaxial crystals and discussed in the framework of a k p model. Room temperature PL in Si-doped InSe is dominated by a band-to-band peak exhibiting a pressure shift in agreement with previous works. This PL peak has been measured up to 7 GPa and a steep reversible decr…

ELECTROCHEMICAL FABRICATION OF METAL/OXIDE/CONDUCTING POLYMER JUNCTIONS FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Earlier Developed Techniques
2014
The first electrochemical experiments were performed with solid materials, esp. metals. However, these experiments, conducted in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, were directed toward the elucidation of the basic features of the electrical action of chemical substances and the chemical action of electricity. Initially, metals played the major role; only later it became obvious that many chemical compounds possess metallic or semiconducting properties that can be utilized in electrochemical cells. Parallel to the studies of new electrode materials, solid electrolytes were discovered and entire solid galvanic cells could be constructed. In this book, we will entirely neglect pure solid…
The Li Ni0.2Mn0.2Co0.6O2 electrode materials: A structural and magnetic study
2012
Graphical abstract: EPR signal of the Li{sub 0.6}Co{sub 0.6}Ni{sub 0.2}Mn{sub 0.2}O{sub 2} composition showing that Mn{sup 4+} ions are the solely paramagnetic ions in the structure. Highlights: Black-Right-Pointing-Pointer LiCo{sub 0.6}Ni{sub 0.2}Mn{sub 0.2}O{sub 2} was prepared by the combustion method with sucrose as a fuel. Black-Right-Pointing-Pointer Chemical delithiaition was performed by using NO{sub 2}BF{sub 4} oxidizing agent. Black-Right-Pointing-Pointer The rhombohedral symmetry was preserved upon lithium removal. Black-Right-Pointing-Pointer Lithium extraction leads to Ni{sup 2+} oxidation to Ni{sup 4+} followed by Co{sup 3+} oxidation. Black-Right-Pointing-Pointer The EPR narr…
Effect of coatings on long term behaviour of a commercial stainless steel for solid oxide electrolyser cell interconnect application in H2 /H2O atmos…
2014
Abstract K41X (AISI 441) stainless steel evidenced a high electrical conductivity after 3000 h ageing in H 2 /H 2 O side when used as interconnect for solid oxide electrolyser cells (SOEC) working at 800 °C. Perovskite (La 1 − x Sr x MnO 3 − δ ) and spinel (Co 3 O 4 ) oxides coatings were applied on the surface of the ferritic steel for ageing at 800 °C for 3000 h. Both coatings improved the behaviour of the steel and give interesting opportunities to use the K41X steel as interconnect for hydrogen production via high temperature steam electrolysis. Co 3 O 4 reduced into Co leading to a very good Area Specific Resistance (ASR) parameter, 0.038 Ω cm 2 . Despite a good ASR (0.06 Ω cm 2 ), La …
The effect of hydration layers on the anodic growth and on the dielectric properties of Al2O3 for electrolytic capacitors
2014
Hydrous films were grown on high purity and cubicity Al foils for electrolytic capacitors in deionized water, ethylene glycol - deionized water and in glycerol - deionized water for different immersion times. According to the X-ray diffraction patterns the hydration treatment allowed to grow a pseudo boehmite layer on Al surface whose morphology is appreciably affected by the bath composition. Capacitance measurements and photoelectrochemical findings suggest that a more compact barrier layer forms during the immersion in alcohol containing solutions. The hydration in water allowed to save energy and to prepare more blocking oxide films. The beneficial effect of hydration in hot water on th…
A Geant4 simulation package for the sage spectrometer
2012
International audience; A comprehensive Geant4 simulation was built for the SAGE spectrometer. The simulation package includes the silicon and germanium detectors, the mechanical structure and the electromagnetic fields present in SAGE. This simulation can be used for making predictions through simulating experiments and for comparing simulated and experimental data to better understand the underlying physics.
