Strong solutions to a parabolic equation with linear growth with respect to the gradient variable

Abstract In this paper we prove existence and uniqueness of strong solutions to the homogeneous Neumann problem associated to a parabolic equation with linear growth with respect to the gradient variable. This equation is a generalization of the time-dependent minimal surface equation. Existence and regularity in time of the solution is proved by means of a suitable pseudoparabolic relaxed approximation of the equation and a passage to the limit.

Three solutions for a mixed boundary value problem involving the one-dimensional p-Laplacian

AbstractThis paper deals with two mixed nonlinear boundary value problems depending on a parameter λ. For each of them we prove the existence of at least three generalized solutions when λ lies in an exactly determined open interval. Usefulness of this information on the interval is then emphasized by means of some consequences. Our main tool is a very recent three critical points theorem stated in [Topol. Methods Nonlinear Anal. 22 (2003) 93–104].

Przedmiotem opracowania jest problematyka mocy wiążącej uchwał Sądu Najwyższego podejmowanych w konkretnych sprawach karnych. Podstawę prawną do podejmowania tych uchwał stanowią przepisy art. 441 k.p.k. i art. 82 ustawy z dnia 8 grudnia 2017 r. o Sądzie Najwyższym. An alternative formulation of the boundary element method

Abstract The paper suggests an alternative formulation of the Boundary Element Method, in which singular solutions generated by unit dislocations are required and moreover the stresses at the interior points of the body are directly computed from the boundary quantities, without passing through the displacements. Relationships between the singular solutions for unit dislocation and unit force are derived.

Hemocyanin from E. californicum encapsulated in silica gels: oxygen binding and conformational states.

Cooperativity depends on the existence of equilibria among functionally distinct conformational states that are affected by homo and heterotropic effectors. In order to isolate the quaternary conformations of hemocyanin from E. californicum, the 24-meric giant protein was encapsulated in wet, nanoporous silica gels, either in the absence or presence of oxygen. The deoxy- and oxy-hemocyanin gels exhibit a p50 for oxygen of 11 and 2.5 torr, respectively, values in close agreement with those for hemocyanin in solution. The solution behavior of dopamine in the presence of mono and divalent cations: A thermodynamic investigation in different experimental conditions

The interactions of dopamine [2-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)ethylamine, (Dop-)] with methylmercury(II) (CH3Hg+), magnesium(II), calcium(II), and tin(II) were studied in NaCl(aq) at different ionic strengths and temperatures. A New Heterogeneous Catalyst Obtained via Supramolecular Decoration of Graphene with a Pd2+ Azamacrocyclic Complex

A new G-(H2L)-Pd heterogeneous catalyst has been prepared via a self-assembly process consisting in the spontaneous adsorption, in water at room temperature, of a macrocyclic H2L ligand on graphene (G) (G + H2L = G-(H2L)), followed by decoration of the macrocycle with Pd2+ ions (G-(H2L) + Pd2+ = G-(H2L)-Pd) under the same mild conditions. This supramolecular approach is a sustainable (green) procedure that preserves the special characteristics of graphene and furnishes an efficient catalyst for the Cu-free Sonogashira cross coupling reaction between iodobenzene and phenylacetylene. In this tutorial review we show how the methods and techniques of computational chemistry have been applied to the understanding of the physical basis of the rate enhancement of chemical reactions by enzymes. This is to answer the question: Why is the activation free energy in enzyme catalysed reactions smaller than the activation free energy observed in solution? The interaction of a synthetic enantiopure azamacrocyclic receptor (L) with biologically important chiral dicarboxylates (A, 1-7) has been studied by means of potentiometric titrations in 0.15 M NaCl aqueous solution in a wide pH range. This macrocycle forms strong complexes of the type [HnLA](n-2) (with n = 0-5). As a general trend, the binding is much tighter at basic or neutral pH than in acidic medium. Interestingly, nonprotected excitatory amino acids (Asp and Glu) are strongly bound even at acidic pH. Effect of the ΔPhe residue configuration on a didehydropeptides conformation: A combined CD and NMR study.

Conformations of two pairs of dehydropeptides with the opposite configuration of the ΔPhe residue, Boc-Gly-Δ(Z)Phe-Gly-Phe-OMe (Z-OMe), Boc-Gly-Δ(E)Phe-Gly-Phe-OMe (E-OMe), Boc-Gly-Δ(Z)Phe-Gly-Phe-p-NA (Z-p-NA), and Boc-Gly-Δ(E)Phe-Gly-Phe-p-NA (E-p-NA) were compared on the basis of CD and NMR studies in MeOH, trifluoroethanol (TFE), MeCN, chloroform, and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO).
