Dipole moments of 4′-aminoflavonols determined using electro-optical absorption measurements or molecular Stark-effect spectroscopy

2002

The electro-optical absorption measurements (EOAM) were used to measure the dipole moments of the normal form of 4 -(methoxy)-3hydroxyflavone (FOM), 4 -(dimethylamino)-3-hydroxyflavone (FME), and 4 -N-(15-azacrown-5)-3-hydroxyflavone (FCR). For these probes the excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) takes place. For comparison, the dipole moments of 4 -(dimethylamino)-3methoxyflavone (FME3ME), for which ESIPT is lacking, were measured. In the case of FCR, FME, and FME3ME the equilibrated ground (µg) and excited Franck–Condon state (µ FC ) electrical dipole moments are parallel to each other and also parallel to the transition dipole moment. The electrical dipole moment…

Dipole moments of aminophthalimides determined by modified electro-optical absorption and emission measurements

1995

Modified electro-optical absorption and emission methods were used to measure the electric dipole moments of five aminophthalimides in their ground and excited states. The equilibrated ground and excited state dipole moments measured by these methods are in reasonable agreement with those derived from other measurement techniques, confirming the general validity of these methods. A difference is observed between the properties of 3-aminophthalimide (3AP) and 4-amino-N-methylphthalimide (4ANMP) in different solvents. The equilibrated dipole moment of 3AP in its excited state is practically independent of the solvent polarity in contrast with 4ANMP. The possible mechanism of this effect is di…

Variable-temperature X-ray crystal structure determinations of {Fe[tren(6-Mepy)3]}(ClO4)2and {Zn[tren(6-Mepy)3]}(ClO4)2compounds: correlation of the …

2007

Variable-temperature X-ray crystal structure determinations (80–330 K) on compounds {Fe[tren(6-Mepy)3]}(ClO4)2(1-Fe) {tren(6-Mepy)3is tris[3-aza-4-(6-methyl-2-pyridyl)but-3-enyl]amine} and {Zn[tren(6-Mepy)3]}(ClO4)2(1-Zn) {tren(6-Mepy)3is tris[3-aza-4-(6-methyl-2-pyridyl)but-3-enyl]amine} were carried out together with a detailed analysis of the unit-cell volume and parameters in the spin transition region for (1-Fe). Both compounds crystallize in the monoclinic system and retained the space groupP21/cat all measured temperatures. The Fe and Zn atoms are surrounded by six N atoms belonging to imine groups and pyridine groups of the trifurcated ligand, adopting a pseudo-octahedral symmetry. …

High-pressure x-ray absorption study of GaTe including polarization

2000

The evolution of the local structure in GaTe under pressure is studied by x-ray absorption spectroscopy experiments at the Ga K-edge (10.368 keV) on oriented single crystals. Taking advantage of the linearly polarized character of synchrotron radiation, the pressure evolution of both the Ga-Te and the in-plane Ga-Ga bond lengths could be determined, in spite of the small amplitude of the latter. Our measurements show that both distances are much less compressible than what could be inferred from the bulk compressibility, which evidences a strong variation of Ga-Ga-Te and Te-Ga-Te angles under pressure. The Te-Te intralayer distance perpendicular to the layers is observed to increase with in…

High-resolution Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and analysis of the ν3 fundamental band of P4

1999

Abstract We present the first high-resolution infrared absorption study of the ν 3 fundamental of white phosphorus, P 4 . This spectrum has been analyzed using the STDS (Spherical Top Data System) software. The band center lies at 466.286 cm −1 . With the approximation ( Bζ ) 3 =− B 0 /2, we found that the ground-state bond length is r 0 =219.58 pm. This value is consistent with that of ab initio studies reported previously but significantly different from a value obtained from a Raman study.

Large segmental bone defects occurring after trauma, bone tumors, infections or revision surgeries are a challenge for surgeons. The aim of our study was to develop a new biomaterial utilizing simple and cheap 3D-printing techniques. A porous polylactide (PLA) cylinder was printed and functionalized with stromal-derived factor 1 (SDF-1) or bone morphogenetic protein 7 (BMP-7) immobilized in collagen type I. Biomechanical testing proved biomechanical stability and the scaffolds were implanted into a 6 mm critical size defect in rat femur. Bone growth was observed via x-ray and after 8 weeks, bone regeneration was analyzed with µCT and histological staining methods. Development of non-unions …

Immunohistochemical Evaluation of Periodontal Regeneration Using a Porous Collagen Scaffold.

2021

(1) Aim: To immunohistochemically evaluate the effect of a volume-stable collagen scaffold (VCMX) on periodontal regeneration. (2) Methods: In eight beagle dogs, acute two-wall intrabony defects were treated with open flap debridement either with VCMX (test) or without (control). After 12 weeks, eight defects out of four animals were processed for paraffin histology and immunohistochemistry. (3) Results: All defects (four test + four control) revealed periodontal regeneration with cementum and bone formation. VCMX remnants were integrated in bone, periodontal ligament (PDL), and cementum. No differences in immunohistochemical labeling patterns were observed between test and control sites. N…

Development of an Easily Bioconjugatable Water-Soluble Single-Photon Emission-Computed Tomography/Optical Imaging Bimodal Imaging Probe Based on the …

2021

A water-soluble fluorescent aza-BODIPY platform (Wazaby) was prepared and functionalized by a polyazamacrocycle agent and a bioconjugable arm. The resulting fluorescent derivative was characterized and bioconjugated onto a trastuzumab monoclonal antibody as a vector. After bioconjugation, the imaging agent appeared to be stable in serum (>72 h at 37 °C) and specifically labeled HER-2-positive breast tumors slices. The bioconjugate was radiolabeled with [111In] indium and studied in vivo. The developed monomolecular multimodal imaging probe (MOMIP) is water-soluble and chemically and photochemically stable, emits in the near infrared (NIR) region (734 nm in aqueous media), and displays a goo…

Synthesis and coordinating ability of an anionic cobaltabisdicarbollide ligand geometrically analogous to BINAP.

2004

The anionic chelating ligand [1,1'-(PPh 2 ) 2 -3,3'-Co(1,2-C 2 B 9 H 1 0 ) 2 ] - has been synthesized from [3,3'-Co(1,2-C 2 B 4 H 1 1 ) 2 ] - in very good yield in a one-pot process with an easy work-up procedure. The coordinating ability of this ligand has been studied with Group 11 metal ions (Ag, Au) and with transition-metal ions (Pd, Rh). The two dicarbollide halves of the [1,1'-(PPh 2 ) 2 -3,3'-Co(1,2-C 2 B 9 H 1 0 ) 2 ] - ligand can swing about one axis in a manner analogous to the constituent parts of BINAP and ferrocenyl phosphine derivatives. All these ligands function as hinges, with the most important property in relation to the coordination requirements of the metal being the P…
