In this paper, the experimental conditions for preparing ampicillin-loaded polyethylcyanoacrylate (PECA) nanoparticles are described. The effects of drug concentration and surfactant type in the polymerization medium on the particle size distribution and loading capacity were studied. The results of these studies show that only the type of surfactant has an impact on the nanoparticle dimensions. The release rate of ampicillin from PECA nanoparticles at pH 7.4 (extracellular value pH) performed either with and without esterases, show that the drug release is considerably increased in the presence of these exzymes. Development and evaluation of occlusive systems employing polyvinyl alcohol for transdermal delivery of sumatriptan succinate

The aim of the present study was to develop a sumatriptan succinate transdermal system for applying migraine treatments efficiently and easily. For this system polyvinyl alcohol was employed as a matrix and Azone((R)) was added as a permeability enhancer. The physical characteristics, mechanical properties, and in vivo bioadhesion of the systems were evaluated, as was in vitro permeation across porcine skin. A uniform distribution of the drug in the matrix was observed, and moisture uptake values were constant. Dynamic light-scattering measurements are reported for suspensions at concentrations in the vicinity of the glass transition. In a mixture of identically sized but optically different particles having hard-sphere-like interactions, we project out the incoherent (or self-) intermediate scattering functions by adjusting the refractive index of the suspending liquid until scattering from the structure is suppressed. Due to polydispersity, crystallization is sufficiently slow so that good estimates of ensemble-averaged quantities can be measured for the metastable fluid states. This paper reports on the morphologies of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/mesoporous silica (MCM-41) composites prepared by melt compounding with various MCM-41 contents in the range of 0.1–5 wt%, the interactions between the polymer and filler in these composites, and their thermomechanical, mechanical and thermal degradation properties. The composites formed transparent films at low filler loadings (\0.5 wt%) because of well-dispersed, unagglomerated particles. While the classical ground state structure of an atomic monolayer adsorbed at a noncorrugated perfectly flat substrate trivially is a triangular lattice, the spacing being the minimum of the interatomic potential, nontrivial structures occur on corrugated substrates. This problem is exemplified for the (100) face of a face-centered cubic crystal, varying both the density of the adsorbed monolayer and the strength of the potential due to the surface. In this communication we study the transport properties of two-dimensional assemblies of [Fe(Htrz)2(trz)](BF4) spin-crossover nanoparticles (NPs) with two different morphologies. The NPs have been synthesized made in a similar manner than in our previous study in which single NPs were measured. We prepared free-standing self-assembled monolayer sheets of both SCO NPs formed at the air/liquid interface on holey carbon TEM grids to extract their global arrangement and NP size distributions by STEM-HAADF technique. International audience; Anisotropic coordination nanoparticles of the photomagnetic network Cs(I)(2)Cu(II)(7)[Mo(IV)(CN)(8)](4) are obtained through a surfactant-free high-yield synthetic procedure in water. These particles are organised as Langmuir-Blodgett films with a preferential orientation of the nano-objects within the film that exhibit a magnetic bistability below 20 K with a very large coercivity due to an efficient photo-transformation.
