Identification of Putative Interactors of Arabidopsis Sugar Transporters

2020

International audience; Hexoses and disaccharides are the key carbon sources for essentially all physiological processes across kingdoms. In plants, sucrose, and in some cases raffinose and stachyose, are transported from the site of synthesis in leaves, the sources, to all other organs that depend on import, the sinks. Sugars also play key roles in interactions with beneficial and pathogenic microbes. Sugar transport is mediated by transport proteins that fall into super-families. Sugar transporter (ST) activity is tuned at different levels, including transcriptional and posttranslational levels. Understanding the ST interactome has a great potential to uncover important players in biologi…

Multiple reaction monitoring for identification and quantification of oligosaccharides in legumes using a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer.

2022

Raffinose family oligosaccharides are non-digestible compounds considered as dietary prebiotics with health-related properties. Hence, it is important to develop highly specific methods for their determination. An analytical method is developed in this study for oligosaccharide identification and quantification using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry equipped with a triple quadrupole analyser operating in Multiple Reaction Monitoring mode. Raffinose, stachyose and verbascose are separated in a 10-minute run and the method is validated over a broad concentration range, showing good linearity, accuracy, precision and high sensitivity. A low-cost, short eco-friendly procedure for …

Effect of season and soil treatments on carbohydrate concentrations in Norway spruce (Picea abies) mycorrhizae

1998

We studied effects of season and soil treatments (watering, acidification, liming and combinations of these treatments) on soluble carbohydrates of mycorrhizal roots of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.). Arabinose, arabitol, fructose, glucose, inositol, lactose, mannitol, pinite, quinate, raffinose, shikimate, stachyose and trehalose were identified by HPLC. Concentrations of inositol, lactose and pinite were constant throughout the year, whereas concentrations of raffinose, stachyose and trehalose were higher in winter than in summer, and concentrations of glucose, fructose and mannitol increased from February to September. Soil acidification and liming had no effect on the annual me…
