Evidence of a non-conservative mass transfer in the ultra-compact X-ray source XB 1916-053

The dipping source XB 1916-053 is a compact binary system with an orbital period of 50 min harboring a neutron star. Using ten new {\it Chandra} observations and one {\it Swift/XRT} observation, we are able to extend the baseline of the orbital ephemeris; this allows us to exclude some models that explain the dip arrival times. The Chandra observations provide a good plasma diagnostic of the ionized absorber and allow us to determine whether it is placed at the outer rim of the accretion disk or closer to the compact object. Spectral analysis of the AMXP during its 2018 outburst

The Accreting Millisecond X-ray Pulsar IGR J17591-2342 is a Low Mass X-ray Binary (LMXB) system that went in outburst on 2018 August and it was monitored by the NICER observatory and partially by other facilities. We aim to study how the spectral emission of this source evolved during the outburst by exploiting the whole X-ray data repository of simultaneous observations. The continuum emission of the combined broad-band spectra is on average well described by an absorbed Comptonization component scattering blackbody-distributed photons peaking at (0.8 +/- 0.5) keV by a moderately optically thick corona (tau = 2.3 +/- 0.5) with temperature of (34 +/- 9) keV. Start es el principal punto de control del ciclo celular en el que las células se comprometen a una nueva ronda de división celular. Este punto de control implica la activación irreversible de un programa transcripcional por los complejos Cdc28-Cln a través de la inactivación del represor transcripcional de Start Whi5. En este trabajo se proporcionan nuevas claves sobre cómo Whi7, una proteína relacionada a nivel de secuencia con Whi5, reprime Start. Romania is one of the main countries of origin for intra-European migration. The national authorities recently implemented the first major program —Diaspora Start-up—to support the business initiatives of Romanian citizens who live abroad and who are interested in opening a business in their home country. This scheme was developed in parallel with a broader program—Romania Start-up Plus—which was designed to support the entrepreneurial initiatives of individuals residing inside the country. Building on the extant literature on business modelling and focussing on start-up firms, this article aims at exploring the combination between conventional business model schemes and System Dynamics methodology with the intent to overcome those limitations related to a static design approach. By mapping the multiple key elements underlying value creation processes – linked according to a cause-and-effect perspective – and with the support of a simulation-based methodology, entrepreneurs may experiment and understand how the firm reacts to strategic and organizational changes in terms of performance, innovation and value creation.

Bakalaura darbā “Jaunuzņēmumus, uzņēmējdarbības vide un indivīdu motivācija iesaistīties jauna uzņēmuma veidošanā Latvijā” tiek pētīta uzņēmējdarbības vide Latvijā jaunuzņēmumu kontekstā un indivīdu motivācija iesaistīties jaunu uzņēmumu veidošanā Latvijā. Lai izanalizētu šos jautājumus, bakalaura darbā tiek pētīts, jaunuzņēmuma koncepts, ārējie uzņēmējdarbības vides faktori, uzņēmējdarbības vide Latvijā un indivīdu motivācija iesaistīties jauna uzņēmuma veidošanā. Darbā ir secināts, ka Latvijas uzņēmējdarbības vide ir viduvēji draudzīga jauniem un esošiem jaunuzņēmumiem un galvenais motivācijas faktors iesaistīties uzņēmējdarbībā Latvijā ir iespēja palielināt savus ienākumus.
