A comparative case study of Sony Computer Entertainment's crisis communication efforts during two PlayStation Network crises

This study is about the crisis communication efforts of Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) during two crises. Their PlayStation Network online service was hacked in 2011 and crashed by artificially high traffic in 2014. The purpose of the study is to examine the communication strategies of SCE and the development those strategies underwent between the two crises. This is done by comparing their crisis communication strategies with the Contingency Theory of strategic conflict management. Stationary sets and asymptotic behavior of the mean curvature flow with forcing in the plane

We consider the flat flow solutions of the mean curvature equation with a forcing term in the plane. We prove that for every constant forcing term the stationary sets are given by a finite union of disks with equal radii and disjoint closures. On the other hand for every bounded forcing term tangent disks are never stationary. Finally in the case of an asymptotically constant forcing term we show that the only possible long time limit sets are given by disjoint unions of disks with equal radii and possibly tangent. peerReviewed
Stationary sets of the mean curvature flow with a forcing term

We consider the flat flow approach for the mean curvature equation with forcing in an Euclidean space $\mathbb R^n$ of dimension at least 2. Our main results states that tangential balls in $\mathbb R^n$ under any flat flow with a bounded forcing term will experience fattening, which generalizes the result by Fusco, Julin and Morini from the planar case to higher dimensions. Then, as in the planar case, we are able to characterize stationary sets in $\mathbb R^n$ for a constant forcing term as finite unions of equisized balls with mutually positive distance.

Perinatal alcohol exposure affects ontogenic neurodevelopment, causing physical and functional long-term abnormalities with limited treatment options. This study investigated long-term consequences of continuous and intermittent maternal alcohol drinking on behavioral readouts of cognitive function and alcohol vulnerability in the offspring. Central venous catheters (CVCs) in neonates are associated with a risk of central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI). Most reports on the incidence of CLABSI in neonates focus on umbilical venous catheters (UVCs) and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs). We evaluated the incidence and risk factors for CLABSI in a cohort of neonates with femoral venous catheters (FVCs), UVCs, and PICCs, with a gestational age ≥34 weeks born between January 1, 2006 and June 30, 2013. Commonly accepted models of human consciousness have substantial shortcomings, in the sense that they cannot account for the entire scope of human experiences. The goal of this article is to describe a model with higher explanatory power, by integrating ideas from psychology and quantum mechanics. In the first part, the need for a paradigm change will be justified by presenting three types of phenomena that challenge the materialistic view of consciousness.
