L'INFLUENCE DE L'INTRUSION PERÇUE SUR LES COMPORTEMENTS DE RÉSISTANCE AUX FORMATS DE PUBLICITÉ SUR INTERNET
2012
Drawing from the theoretical framework defined by Roux (2007), this research examines the relationship between perceived advertising intrusion (Anzieu, 1994) and manifestations of consumer resistance (Hirschman, 1970). The results show that the intrusion does not significantly affect the expression or intention to return to the website. However, it influences positively defection and negatively purchase intention of the product promoted in the ad.
Contact formation in random networks of elongated objects
2014
The effect of steric hindrance is an important aspect of granular packings as it gives rise to, e.g., limitations on the densities of ordered and disordered packings, both of which are essentially defined by the geometry of the constituents. Here we focus on random packing of rods via deposition and their distributions of contact number and segment length. Such statistical properties are relevant for mechanical properties of the structures, but the (quite large) steric effects on them have not been addressed in previous studies. We therefore develop a theory that describes the statistical properties of rod packings, while taking into account that the deposited rods cannot overlap and thus i…
Sustainability in Hospitality Marketing during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Content Analysis of Consumer Empirical Research
2021
This study performs content analysis of consumer empirical research dealing with sustainability issues in hospitality marketing literature during the outbreak of COVID-19. Papers published in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) ranked hospitality journals from January 2020 up to and including May 2021 are reviewed. The total of 46 papers met the search criteria and were subject to content analysis. The reviewed papers are classified based on research topics, variables, and themes
The image of cruise ship holidays on Italian television: a comparative analysis.
2017
By conceptualizing the cruise ship as the destination in itself, this contribution discusses the role of destination image in cruise passengers' decision-making processes and focuses on the role and contents of visual texts such as TV commercials in the promotion of cruise tourism. A content analysis is performed over TV commercials broadcast by different cruise lines to Italian travellers. Specific components of the image of ships as tourist destinations as promoted through TV advertising campaigns are identified.
AN ASSOCIATION INDEX FOR RECTANGULAR CONTINGENCY TABLES WITH ORDERED/UNORDERED VARIABLES
2016
In a previous work, Mineo and Ruggieri (2005) introduce a new index to measure the association in square contingency tables; in this paper such an index is extended to rectangular tables, preserving the same properties. The considered domain includes all the contingency tables with equal n (the total number of observations), since the tables of maximum dependence, useful for computing the denominator of the proposed index, belong to it. The main findings, which prove the effectiveness of the proposed measure, are presented. In particular, the new measure assumes values in the range [-1,+1], taking value zero in tables with distributive independence and positive/negative values if associatio…
An Effective Double Sampling Scheme for the c Control Chart
2015
In the present paper is developed a statistical process control inspection procedure based on a new simple-to-implement and effective double sampling scheme for the c control chart, aimed at the minimization of the number of inspected observation units and warranting fixed levels for the type I and II error risks. In particular, the formulations of the false alarm risk α, the power P of the chart, and the expected number of inspected observation units for the developed inspection procedure are given, whereas a macro of Microsoft Excel is adopted to solve the tackled problem. In order to illustrate the application of the developed approach and to investigate on the influence of several opera…
Comparing the Economic Effectiveness of Various Adaptive Schemes for the c Chart
2014
In an attempt to improve the effectiveness of statistical process control (SPC) procedures, a variety of adaptive schemes has been developed in the last decades. However, considering control charts for attributes, relatively few works about adaptive schemes have been proposed, and most of them were proposed only recently. The common characteristic of those schemes is that one or more chart parameters are allowed to adaptively vary during the SPC operations according to the sampling information history, typically the current point plotted on the chart. In this way, the adaptive schemes are smarter than the related static ones, but they are also more complicated in terms of implementation. Th…
Economic design approach for a SPC inspection procedure implementing the adaptive c chart
2014
The present paper proposes a design approach for a statistical process control (SPC) procedure implementing a c control chart for non-conformities, with the aim to minimize the hourly total quality-related costs. The latter take into account the costs arising from the non-conforming products while the process is in-control and out-of-control, for false alarms, for assignable cause locations and system repairs, for sampling and inspection activities and for the system downtime. The proposed economic optimization approach is constrained by the expected hourly false alarms frequency, as well as the available labor resource level. A mixed integer non-linear constrained mathematical model is dev…
Controllo di gestione nelle PMI e consulenti esterni
2019
Management control in SMEs and external consultants. The issue of management control in small and medium-sized enterprises has long been the subject of scientific debate, as well as a key point of professionals’ interest. Starting from the recognition of the role played by the latter, this paper aims to investigate the type and level of dissemination of management control tools in SMEs by adopting the perspective o…
The Australian Sheep-Goat Scale: An Evaluation of Factor Structure and Convergent Validity.
2018
The Australian Sheep-Goat Scale (ASGS) is a commonly used measure of belief in the paranormal. The scale contains items that index extrasensory perception (ESP), psychokinesis (PK), and life after death (LAD). Although, research employs the ASGS as both a general (unidimensional) and factorial (multidimensional) measure, few studies have examined the appropriateness of these solutions. Accordingly, the present paper tested the psychometric integrity of the ASGS via two studies. Study 1 assessed ASGS factorial structure using confirmatory factor analysis. To achieve this, merging of ASGS data from previously published studies and ongoing work created a heterogeneous sample of 1,601 responses…
