Adaptation and Refinement of Validated Risk Screening Tools in the Spanish Healthcare System

Abstract The aim of this study is to develop a tool to screen elders at risk of hospital readmissions adapted to Spanish target population. The development of this new tool is based on the validated instrument The Community Assessment Risk Screen – CARS –, which is being applied in a sample of 1.000 older patients. The adaptation and refinement of CARS is being carried out through the compilation of new potential variables from primary care clinicians to predict patients at risk of readmissions. The introduction of this new instrument adapted to Spanish target population will provide a potential tool to identify prematurel y patients at risk of hospital readmissions.

Introduction The purpose of this study was to provide a translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and validation of the Polish language version of the pain sensitivity questionnaire (PSQ). The process followed widely accepted guidelines. Methods The translated questionnaire underwent thorough psychometric testing. In total, the data of 144 subjects (mean age 52.53±13 years), who underwent evaluation for lower back pain, were included. Summary There are no internationally recognized criteria available to determine preparedness for hospital discharge after esophagectomy. This study aims to achieve international consensus using Delphi methodology. The expert panel consisted of 40 esophageal surgeons spanning 16 countries and 4 continents. During a 3-round, web-based Delphi process, experts voted for discharge criteria using 5-point Likert scales. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Reliability and Validity of the German Version of the Schema Mode Inventory

This study presents an evaluation of the German version of the Schema Mode Inventory (SMI) including reliability and validity analyses. Psychometric properties were assessed. We analyzed the factor structure, internal reliability as well as intercorrelations between the subscales, and compared it to the results of the original version. This was done in a sample of N = 432 nonpatients, psychiatric patients with axis I and axis II diagnoses, and forensic patients. Results indicated a 14-factor structure of the SMI and good-to-excellent internal reliabilities of the 14 subscales (Cronbach’s α from .70 to .95).
