Unravelling the mechanism of the ketene-imine Staudinger reaction. An ELF quantum topological analysis

The mechanism of the ketene-imine Staudinger (KI-S) reaction between t-butyl-cyano ketene and N-phenyl phenylimine has been studied using DFT methods at the MPWB1K/6-311G(d) computational level. The reaction takes place through a two-step mechanism: (i) the first step is the nucleophilic attack of the imine nitrogen lone pair on the central carbon of the ketene yielding a zwitterionic (ZW) intermediate; (ii) the second step, which is the rate- and stereoselectivity-determining step, is a ring-closure process achieved by a nucleophilic attack of the terminal carbon atom of the ketene on the imine carbon atom. Indolo[2,3-a]pyrrolo[3,4-c]carbazoles were isolated from nature, e.g., from low plants, especially fungi, as structurally rare natural substances. Responsible for naming and also the most important representative of this type is staurosporine (1), isolated from Streptomyces staurosporeus, and its aglycon (2), also known as staurosporinone or K-252c. 3,4-Disubstituted pyrrolidin-2-ones, a group of compounds with many interesting biological properties are related to staurosporinone. The study of rural burgs founded during the totalitarian regimes in Spain and Italy, proposes a comparative study of urban realities characterised by peculiar elements, which show a design volition to decline the project on the territory on which it was intended to be realised, starting from an abstraction of the project up to the modifications dictated by social and logistical needs. In this paper, the case of the Spanish city Conquista del Guadiana from 1964, and the Italian Aprilia from 1936, will be deepened. Dopo avere richiamato l’estesa vicenda storica della costruzione della chiesa Madre di Santa Maria delle Stelle a Comiso, iniziata nel 1736 e terminata due secoli dopo, il contributo è focalizzato sul tema del completamento della sua facciata con l’uso della struttura intelaia di calcestruzzo di cemento armato, progettata dall’ingegnere Santoro Secolo. In tempi più recenti, alcuni dissesti improvvisi hanno posto in evidenza il tema del rischio e la necessità di interventi per risanare la struttura architettonica. L’importanza del monitoraggio e della manutenzione, intesi come fondamentali strategie di conservazione, concludono l’articolo.
