Laser driven parametric amplification of xuv and soft-x-rays in neutral gases

2010

We present the first theoretical description and also experimental evidence for the amplification of XUV and soft-X-ray radiation by parametric stimulated emission in neutral gases driven by near-IR laser pulses reaching small-signal-gain up to 8000.

Laser-driven amplification of soft X-rays by parametric stimulated emission in neutral gases

2010

The high-order harmonics of short laser pulses created in a nonlinear medium are a useful source of extreme-ultraviolet and soft-X-ray radiation. A newly discovered phenomenon that amplifies this emission even further could improve the efficiency of short-wavelength light sources.

Stimulated Emission in InGaN/GaN Multiple Quantum Wells with Different Indium Content

2005

1. IntroductionLight-emitting and laser diodes for the green to near-UV region are basedon quantum structures with the InGaN active region [1]. The indium contentin the wells is a technological parameter that provides a straightforward accessfor the change in the color of the light-emitting device. However, the redshift ofthe emission peak with increase in indium content is caused not only by a simplealloying, but also by carrier localization due to difierence in In and Ga atomic

Stimulated emission control in Photonic Crystals: Strong coupling regime in QNM approach

2006

Stimulated emission, in strong coupling regime, in a one dimensional photonic crystals is described by considering two counter-propagating pumps. Quasi normal mode approach is used and coherent control of the Rabi splitting is discussed.

Leakage radiation microscopy of surface plasmon coupled emission: investigation of gain-assisted propagation in an integrated plasmonic waveguide.

2010

International audience; Using a single-mode dielectric-loaded surface plasmon polariton waveguide doped with quantum dots, we were able to slightly increase the propagation length of the mode by stimulated emission of plasmon. We analyse the amplification phenomenon in the visible range by combining leakage radiation microscopy and surface plasmon coupled emission techniques.

New concepts based on nonlinear polarization effects and Raman amplification in optical fibers

2009

We report a theoretical analysis and experimental demonstration of a polarization attraction process at telecommunication wavelengths in isotropic optical fibers. The combined effects of polarization attraction and Raman amplification are also presented.

New developments in the study of optical parabolic pulses in normally dispersive fibers

2011

International audience; We report two recent studies dealing with the evolution of parabolic pulses in normally dispersive fibers. On the one hand, the nonlinear reshaping from a Gaussian intensity profile towards the asymptotic parabolic shape is experimentally investigated in a Raman amplifier. On the other hand, the significant impact of the fourth order dispersion on a passive propagation is theoretically discussed: we numerically demonstrate flat-top, coherent supercontinuum generation in an all-normal dispersion-flattened photonic crystal fiber. This shape is associated to a strong reshaping of the temporal profile what becomes triangular.

Detecting the stimulated decay of axions at radio frequencies

2018

Assuming axion-like particles account for the entirety of the dark matter in the Universe, we study the possibility of detecting their decay into photons at radio frequencies. We discuss different astrophysical targets, such as dwarf spheroidal galaxies, the Galactic Center and halo, and galaxy clusters. The presence of an ambient radiation field leads to a stimulated enhancement of the decay rate; depending on the environment and the mass of the axion, the effect of stimulated emission may amplify the photon flux by serval orders of magnitude. For axion-photon couplings allowed by astrophysical and laboratory constraints(and possibly favored by stellar cooling), we find the signal to be wi…
