This paper explores the intercultural communication, cultural adjustment strategies and power relations between Finnish and Chinese representatives in the context of Chinese investment facilitation in Finland. The study is mostly based on interviews of individuals who work either for one of Finland’s state agencies tasked with attracting investment or local government. When analyzing aspects of power, the paper’s theoretical basis is the Positioning Theory of Harré (1991). The objective of this study was to find out if national culture impacts the phenomenon of power as it is found in teacher-student communication at the University of Jyväskylä. The study is pertinent and relevant because of the increasingly rapid internationalization that is happening in the Finnish higher education system. Understanding aspects of intercultural teacher-student communication will be important for the future. Examining pre-service teachers' Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge as evolving knowledge domains : A longitudinal approach

The aim of this study is to outline the development and changes in pre‐service teachers' technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) assessments during the first 3 years in teacher education. Specifically, research was conducted at three measurement points over a 3‐year teacher education period. The target group consisted of pre‐service teachers (N = 148) from three Finnish universities. Results indicate a growth in confidence related to all TPACK areas during the research period. The strongest gains were in pedagogical content knowledge. Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa perehdytään sähköisten tehtävien käyttöön opetuksen tukena. Tutkimuksen taustalla vaikuttavat vuosina 2017-2019 vaiheittain sähköistyvät ylioppilaskirjoitukset ja uusi opetussuunnitelma, jossa tieto- ja viestintäteknologia ja tulevaisuudet taidot ovat vahvasti esillä.
