The hospital anxiety and depression scale questionnaire in physical danger and evaluation situations
1996
In this article we analyze the variables of anxiety and depression in two different situations: a combat situation and taking an exam. We used the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale questionnaire with a sample of 621 subjects, divided in four groups, two groups of soldiers, one of them in situation of combat (SBH) and the other one on the military service (CMS). The other two groups were composed of male students (MS) and female students (FS) that were going to take an exam. Results could be organized in two ways: quantitative results, where the more stable subjects are the soldiers in situation of combat (SBH), both in anxiety and in the depression variables. The female students (FS) ob…
Simulated root canals preparation time, comparing ProTaper Next and WaveOne Gold systems, performed by an undergraduate student
2020
Background: The aim of this study was to compare the WaveOne Gold and ProTaper Next systems regarding the time spent preparing simulated canals performed by an inexperienced student. Material and Methods: 80 simulated L-shaped canals were randomly divided into two groups (n = 40) and numbered in order of instrumentation. Canals were instrumented with WaveOne Gold (group 1) and ProTaper Next (group 2) systems. The effective instrumentation time and the number of instrumentation cycles were recorded. All procedures were performed by the same operator. Statistical analysis was obtained by the Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis test with significance of p <0.05. Results: There were no statistically s…
Prevention of eating disorders-Efficacy and cost-benefit of a school-based program ("MaiStep") in a randomized controlled trial (RCT).
2021
Objective Given the severity of eating disorders, effective and easily implementable prevention programs which reduce incidence rates and in addition have health-economic benefits are essential. The majority of research on prevention programs focuses on questionnaire-based efficacy or the reduction of eating disorder symptoms while neglecting the health-economic perspective. By contrast, the present study focuses on both an efficacy analysis considering diagnostic criteria (DSM-5) and on evaluating the cost-benefit of a universal prevention program for eating disorders ("MaiStep"). Method A three-arm randomized controlled trial with baseline, posttreatment and 12-month follow-up was conduct…

2019
Izdegšanas sindromu veicina hronisks stress. Augsts emocionālais intelekts (EI) pasargā no izdegšanas.
