Applying Student Development Theories: Enhancing International Student Academic Success and Integration

Student development theories (SDT) focus on the growth and change occurring in students while attending higher education. In this article, we propose that the application of student development theories supports holistic development in international students and helps us understand international students’ academic success and integration. We outline a combination of student development models, derived from SDT, and interact them with concepts from international student mobility and migration (ISM). These models, when applied to student services, may assist higher education institutions (HEIs) in designing student services for international students enhancing academic success and integration.

Vengono messi in evidenza gli aspetti di continuità o di discontinuità con la disciplina del matrimonio, la coerenza con i principî costituzionali e sovranazionali di riferimento, le principali questioni interpretative e di inquadramento sistematico attraverso un confronto con i principali apporti ermeneutici del formante dottrinale e di quello giurisprudenziale.

By means of a theoretical model, this research investigated how the socioecological environment of university residence affects making friendship in the latter and students' academic success. The model contain four physical-environmental characteristics (distal variables): type of university residence (traditional, conventional), the location (outside or in the city center), and percentages of girls and of advantaged students. Il 26 febbraio 2021 è stata avviata una ricerca-intervento ispirata alla teoria dell’educazione personalizzata. Attualmente, 19 studenti (17 femmine e 2 maschi) del secondo anno del corso di studi triennale in Scienze dell’Educazione attivato presso l’Università degli Studi di Palermo, stanno partecipando in qualità di peer-tutor a una iniziativa di didattica universitaria. Maģistra darba “Neveiksmīgas remigrācijas pieredze” mērķis ir analizēt neveiksmīgas remigrācijas pieredzi un sniegt izpratni par strukturālām problēmām, kas noteikušas atkārtotas emigrācijas lēmumu. Gan kā pētījuma dizains, gan analīzes metode tiek lietots naratīvs. Kvalitatīvā pētījuma dati iegūti, 2020.–2022. gadā veicot 16 padziļinātas daļēji strukturētas biogrāfiskās intervijas. Astoņi no remigrantiem pēc 12–18 mēnešiem atkārtoti lūgti pastāstīt par izmaiņām pieredzē un attieksmēs. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie istoty systemów wczesnego ostrzegania w zarządzaniu projektami w kontekście osiągania celów projektów. Potrzeba stosowania narzędzi wczesnego ostrzegania w zarządzaniu projektami ma uzasadnienie przede wszystkim w fakcie, że z reguły (pomijając zdarzenia nadzwyczajne) przedsiębiorstwa wykazują objawy sytuacji kryzysowych w realizacji podejmowanych projektów na długo przedtem zanim dojdzie do niepowodzenia projektu.
