Propozycja regionalizacji fizycznogeograficznej Sudetów Wschodnich

Artykuł przedstawia propozycję wyznaczenia granic Sudetów Wschodnich oraz podziału fizycznogeograficznego makroregionu na mezoregiony. Przy wyznaczaniu granic uwzględniono w większym stopniu genetyczno-geologiczny podział Sudetów związany z orogenezą waryscyjską. W podziale na mezoregiony w większym stopniu uwzględniono kryteria litostratygraficzne.

Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a genetic disease characterized by stress-induced syncope and/or sudden death in young individuals with structurally normal heart. More than 150 mutations located in the cardiac Ca2+ release channel (type-2 ryanodine receptor, RyR2) gene are related to CPVT. Besides ventricular tachycardia (VT) under stress, sinoatrial node (SAN) dysfunction is frequently observed in CPVT patients. However, the cellular mechanisms remain underexplored. Friedreich's ataxia (FRA) is an autosomal recessive disease of the central nervous system that is associated with familial cardiomyopathy. Cardiac involvement is seen in more than 90% of the patients and is the most common cause of death in these patients. We present a case series and discuss the indications for implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation in FRA with review of the literature. Five pediatric patients who suffer from FRA (four female and one male, mean age 17.4 years) underwent ICD implantation between 2007 and 2008 in the University Hospital of Goettingen. Helianthemum viscarium se distribuye por el norte de África y sudeste de la Península Ibérica, territorios en los que convive y se cruza con otros táxones de la sección Helianthemum. En la presente contribución se revisa la nomenclatura y taxonomía de los híbridos ibéricos de dicha especie. Por un lado, se propone aplicar el nombre H. x guiraoi Willk. a los ejemplares resultantes del cruzamiento entre H. almeriense subsp. scopulorum y H. viscarium, en un sentido diferente al que fue descrito; este híbrido se lectotipifica y se da a conocer como novedad para Alicante. Many in vitro studies have used cell cultures to focus on the relationships between cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) isoforms. We have investigated the time-course of regulation and the role of COX-2 and iNOS in a model of experimental inflammation in mice, the air pouch injected with zymosan. This study demonstrates that there is an early acute phase (4 h) mediated mainly by eicosanoids, with high levels of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) produced by cyclo-oxygenase-1. Detection of ventricular fibrillation (VF) at an early stage is being deeply studied in order to lower the risk of sudden death and allows the specialist to have greater reaction time to give the patient a good recovering therapy. Some works are focusing on detecting VF based on numerical analysis of time-frequency distributions, but in general the methods used do not provide insight into the problem.
