Dehydrogenative Anodic C−C Coupling of Phenols Bearing Electron‐Withdrawing Groups

Abstract We herein present a metal‐free, electrosynthetic method that enables the direct dehydrogenative coupling reactions of phenols carrying electron‐withdrawing groups for the first time. The reactions are easy to conduct and scalable, as they are carried out in undivided cells and obviate the necessity for additional supporting electrolyte. As such, this conversion is efficient, practical, and thereby environmentally friendly, as production of waste is minimized. The method features a broad substrate scope, and a variety of functional groups are tolerated, providing easy access to precursors for novel polydentate ligands and even heterocycles such as dibenzofurans.

This study explores personal (self-esteem, perceived stress, and depressive mood) and situational (undesirable life events) variables as determinants of relationship-specific perceptions of social support. Structural equation analyses from two-wave panel data (N = 583) of adult participants from a community-based urban sample revealed that, after controlling for initial levels of perceived social support, psychological characteristics (high levels of stress and depression, and low levels of self-esteem) and situational determinants (number of undesirable life events) were both negatively related to perceived social support from specific significant relationships over time. ResumenEl objetivo del presente estudio fue analizar las diferencias en ajuste psicológico en víctimas de acoso escolar en función de la calidad de sus relaciones con padres, profesores e iguales. En concreto, se compararon cuatro indicadores de ajuste psicológico (autoestima, ánimo depresivo, soledad y percepción de estrés) en víctimas con buena o mala comunicación con la madre, buena o mala comunicación con el padre, alta o baja percepción de ayuda del profesor, y alta o baja identificación con su grupo de iguales. A decision support system has been developed that determines the optimal dialysate bicarbonate concentration in hemodialysis therapy for each patient individually. The knowledge about the behavior of the acid-base state during treatment has been provided by a mathematical model for the description of dynamic exchange processes during hemodialysis. This model simulates the sodium and water distribution, the acid-base state as well as the ventilation. Abstract Dipeptide and phosphono dipeptide hydrochlorides permeated well through a 1-decanol membrane supported in a porous polyethylene hollow fiber matrix. This transfer is easily accomplished either by passive or by carrier-facilitated (with Kryptofixes 222 or 5 present in the membrane phase) transport. The transport is stereoselective with l-l dipeptides being transported faster than their l-d isomers.
