From finite-gap solutions of KdV in terms of theta functions to solitons and positons

We degenerate the finite gap solutions of the KdV equation from the general formulation in terms of abelian functions when the gaps tends to points, to recover solutions of KdV equations in terms of wronskians called solitons or positons. For this we establish a link between Fredholm determinants and Wronskians.

International audience; This work focuses on the effects of high dose ionizing radiation, up to 10 MGy(SiO2), on P‐doped multimode optical fibers (OF) at different irradiation temperatures. The investigation is based on two complementary experimental techniques: radiation‐induced attenuation (RIA) measurements and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The latter technique allows measuring the P1, P2, metastable‐POHC and stable‐POHC defects. Three OF samples are drawn from the same preform to evaluate the influence of changing their drawing conditions of the OFs on the radiation responses. Abstract Besides the intrinsic low heat transfer capability of material, the thermal insulation property of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) also relies on their microstructures. For better understanding the relationship between process parameters, porous architecture, and thermal properties of coatings, YSZ coatings were firstly manufactured by suspension plasma spray (SPS). International audience; Studies of the mechanical contact between nanometer-scale particles provide fundamental insights into the mechanical properties of materials and the validity of contact laws at the nanoscale which are still under debate for contact surfaces approaching atomic dimensions. Abstract New Fingerprint Mass Spectra (FMS) systems claim for a higher precision, a reduced analysis time, and a lower drift, compared with Gas Sensors Arrays ‘Electronic Noses’. We demonstrated in this study that metal oxide gas sensors may have highly improved performances for both accuracy and run time, when used in optimum conditions. The different noise components were quantified referring to popular words (equivalent of ethanol concentration) using the transfer function of the sensor. Abstract When the quality control is achieved by using GC or GC/MS, the apparatus must comply with the applicable norms, but what about “electronic noses”? End users demand for formal specifications for selectivity, sensitivity, repeatability and sample throughput.
