Abstract Sporadic thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAA) and dissections are one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, especially in those older than 65 years. The presentation of TAA is varied and often silent. Thus, sporadic TAA detection is often fortuitous, with identification occurring during a routine physical examination or during an unrelated medical evaluation. Once suspected, confirmation by imaging clinical approaches is needed to allow the choose of the unique treatments for TAA, namely the surgery procedures, including elective surgery or endovascular repair before the onset of catastrophic and fatal complications, such as dissection or rupture. ‘You really are a great big sister’ – parasocial relationships, credibility, and the moderating role of audience comments in influencer marketing

This study examines the moderating role of audience comments in influencer marketing. A YouTube vlog entry by a social media influencer featuring the endorsement of a brand was studied, and an experimental design featuring two conditions related to audience comments was created. The results indicate that a parasocial relationship with the influencer builds the perceived credibility of the influencer, while comments by other audience members moderate the effect. Influencer credibility positively affects brand trust and purchase intention. The findings enhance the understanding of the role of an active audience in influencer marketing. peerReviewed

This study explores the writings of Sylvia Plath Forum, a discussion forum in the Internet that was launched in 1998. Using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis, Chaïm Perelman’s theory of argumentation, Kenneth Burke’s idea of identification as the basis of rhetoric, and René Girards’s theory of mimetic desire as its framework this study looks into the forum’s meaning-making processes and the ways the author Sylvia Plath (1932-1963) and her readers are represented on the forum. Tutkielmassa käsitellään muun muassa mahdollisia haittoja, joita digitaalinen kahtiajako vanhimmille ikäluokille voi aiheuttaa jatkuvasti enenevissä määrin teknologistuvissa yhteiskunnissa tai niin kutsutuissa tietoyhteiskunnissa sekä vanhuksia koskevan ikäperusteisen digitaalisen kahtiajaon olemassaoloa, suuruutta ja syitä. The Role of the Cerebellum in Social and Non-Social Action Sequences: A Preliminary LF-rTMS Study

An increasing number of studies demonstrated the involvement of the cerebellum in (social) sequence processing. The current preliminary study is the first to investigate the causal involvement of the cerebellum in sequence generation, using low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (LF-rTMS). By targeting the posterior cerebellum, we hypothesized that the induced neuro-excitability modulation would lead to altered performance on a Picture and Story sequencing task, which involve the generation of the correct chronological order of various social and non-social stories depicted in cartoons or sentences.
