Exposure of a THF solution of tantalocene dichloride complexes (η 5 -Cp*)TaCl 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 4 -SiMe 3 ) (1) and (η 5 -Cp*)TaCl 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 ) (2) to the ambient atmosphere for 12 h leads to the formation of new tantalum(V) cationic hydroxo complexes [(η 5 -Cp*)TaCl(OH)(η 5 -C 5 H 4 SiMe 3 )] + -Cl- (3) and [(η 5 -Cp*)TaCl(OH)(η 5 -C 5 H 5 )]+Cl - (4). This oxidation reaction is more rapid under oxygen atmosphere since the hydroxo complexes are obtained in better yields within only 15 min. The hydroxo complexes are easily deprotonated by base to generate oxo complexes 5 and 6, which, in turn, react with trimethylsilyl triflate, giving the corresponding cationic silylated complexes 7 and 8…

Photographic exhibitions are organized since 2004 on the banks of the river Marne at Fleury-la-Rivière within the context of an annual event --the Festival de l'Oh!, initiated by the conseil général of the Val-de-Marne. This type of exhibition does not succeed in attracting the "non-public". The representations held by the people concerned can block their interaction with the works presented on such a public space. This study is part of an on-going general study of the non-public and its relation to culture. This is a qualitative study carried out in various "stops" of the Festival de l'Oh! The paper is only concerned with immigrants met in housing estates in the upper districts of Fleury.

Some of the new approaches in urban modeling, such as multi-agent systems (MAS) or activity-based models (ABM), require inputs in the form of disaggregated individual data. But for privacy protection reasons, such data is seldom available at this level. One way to get around this obstacle is to generate a synthetic population. This paper presents a method for generating a population from fully aggregated socio-demographic and geographic data. Based on French examples, this method can be reproduced anywhere in the country providing a relevant linkage between the characteristics of agents and those of urban spaces. The author focus on the relationship between main features of new urban population and the emergency of mass culture dynamics. Today the traditional beliefs, customs and rites relating to the harvest time are very limited as their contemporary functions and dimension have changed. The authoress is interested in the transformation process of a harvest festival that is typical of the old rural communities. The harvest festival still crowns the labours of farming and is a form of solemn thanksgiving for harvested crops but today's celebration is not accompanied with any magical practices that would bring a good harvest next year. Hydraulic properties of fault zones in porous carbonates, examples from central and southern Italy

We present the results of in situ permeability measurements performed, using a portable field permeameter, on normal and strike-slip fault zones that crosscut high-porosity carbonate grainstones. The measurement sites expose in the Cretaceous Orfento Formation of the Majella Mountain (Abruzzo, Italy), and the Lower Pleistocene deposits of the Favignana Island (Sicily, Italy). Nine small-displacement, compactive shear banding-based fault zones have been tested in the field. The fault offset ranges between 10 and 200 centimeters. Miocene NNE-directed extensional unroofing in the Menderes Massif, southwestern Turkey

Structural investigations in the central part of the Menderes Massif (Odemis-Kiraz submassif) reveal the presence of a large-scale, low-angle extensional shear zone with a top-to-the-N-NE shear sense. Regional ductile deformation was accompanied by the intrusion of two syntectonic granodiorites that have been dated with the Ar-40/Ar-39 method. One hornblende isochron age of 19.5 +/- 1.4 Ma and two biotite plateau ages of 13.1 +/- 0.2 and 12.2 +/- 0.4 Ma, respectively, constrain that extension was already active in the early Miocene.
