Diastereo- and enantioselective conjugate addition reactions with α,β-usaturated imines
2017
Individualizzazione, (neo)liberismo e disagio socio-familiare
2019
The intent of this essay is to propose a critical reflection on the ways in which social unease is represen…
INDUSTRY - A PILLAR OF STRENGTH ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT. ROMANIAN SEQUENCES
2012
In the last 300 years, industry was the key driver of economic development and social, political, military, cultural and spiritual, which are inconceivable without the contribution of this important sector of the economy of any country. At least in these 300 years since the first industrial revolution, industrialization took place in every country in the world along with free trade, protectionism alternation - free schimbism contributing to balancing economic and social development. Nothing is more important than industry between the four basic economic sectors (agriculture, industry, trade and transport). Recrudescence services of any kind, but also the unprecedented quaternary sector (lei…
Older Adults Learning Digital Skills Together: Peer Tutors’ Perspectives on Non-Formal Digital Support
2023
In later life, digital support is predominantly received outside of formal education from warm experts such as children, grandchildren, and friends. However, as not everyone can rely on this kind of informal help, many older adults are at risk of being unwillingly left without digital support and necessary digital skills. In this article, we examine non-formal digital support and peer tutoring as a way to promote digital and social inclusion through the acquisition of necessary digital skills. First, we ask: (a) What is peer tutoring, in the field of digital training, from the peer tutors’ point of view? Then, based on the first research question, we further ask (b) what are the key charact…

Digital innovation & enterprise in the sharing economy : an action research agenda
2020
In this digital era, Digital Innovation & Enterprise have emerged as a possible prescription in the sharing economy. Scholars have noted that digital innovation is transforming the technological landscape, entrepreneurial practices, and the behaviours, attitudes, and beliefs of consumers across the globe. This research note serves three purposes. First, it introduces digital innovation and enterprise as a fruitful area of research in the sharing economy. Second, it extends the agenda set by Yoo, Henfridsson, and Lyytinen (2010) on “new organising logics of Digital Innovation” to propose contemporary research questions for scholarly collaboration. Third, it attempts to move forward research …

Musculoskeletal pain in professional orchestra instrumentalists and its determinants: a Polish pilot study
2022
Introduction: This study aimed to assess pain in professional musicians playing various instruments, as well as to analyse the relationships between the intensity and frequency of pain and the duration of playing the instrument and somatic variables. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between 60 professional musicians, who were divided into 3 groups: cellists, violinists, and musicians playing wind instruments. Pain intensity was assessed using the visual analogue scale (VAS). The respondents also assessed the frequency of musculoskeletal disorders, the location of pain, the number of hours of playing the instrument per week, and the playing experience in years. In…
An Interview with Zygmunt Bauman: How to Turn the Word into Flesh
2017
Deceased in January this year, the Polish-British sociologist Zygmunt Bauman has left an extremely rich scholarly legacy. In one of his last academic interviews, he refers to the key issues which had been the subject of his in-depth analysis for many years. Bauman starts with reflections on the gap between political authority and power. Next, given his long-standing research into ‘liquid modernity’, he focuses on the vitality of capitalism, which has now adopted a lighter, consumer form. Another thread of the interview is Bauman’s own research attitude, which he refers to as ‘sociological hermeneutics’. It is characterized by his reluctance to use any ‘-isms’ and a profound mistrust of all…
