The volume contains two short poems by Nigerian Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka ("No, He Said!", dedicated to Nelson Mandela, from the Author's 1988 classic collection "Mandela's Earth and Other Poems", and the recent "Mandela Comes to Leah", written purposely for this volume), along with the most recent long poem in five parts "A Humanist Ode to Chibok, Leah", published in English for the first time in 2019. The poem, and indeed the entire volume, denounces all forms of fundamentalism and fanaticism as opposed to secular humanism. Tämän artikkelin tavoitteena on laajentaa digitalisaatiosta, datafikaatiosta, automaatiosta ja kasvatuksesta käytävää teoreettista keskustelua. Artikkelissa pohdin sitä, millaisia merkityksiä koulutuksen kiihtyvällä datafikaatiolla ja automaatiolla on opettaja-oppilassuhteille ja ylipäätään käsityksellemme formaalin kasvatuksen olemuksesta. Käsitteellisesti ammennan Martin Buberin dialogisesta filosofiasta, erityisesti Minä–Sinä- ja Minä–Se-käsitepareista, jotka kuvaavat eri tapoja, joilla ihmiset ovat suhteissa toistensa kanssa. Abstract Tumors may be initiated and maintained by a cellular subcomponent that displays stem cell properties. We have used the expression of aldehyde dehydrogenase as assessed by the ALDEFLUOR assay to isolate and characterize cancer stem cell (CSC) populations in 33 cell lines derived from normal and malignant mammary tissue. Twenty-three of the 33 cell lines contained an ALDEFLUOR-positive population that displayed stem cell properties in vitro and in NOD/SCID xenografts. Gene expression profiling identified a 413-gene CSC profile that included genes known to play a role in stem cell function, as well as genes such as CXCR1/IL-8RA not previously known to play such a role. International audience; Ciprofibrate is a well-known drug used to normalize lipid parameters and fibrinogen in atherosclerosis patients. In laboratory rodents such as rats or mice, ciprofibrate exhibits peroxisome proliferator activity. However, to date, no clear alterations or side effects caused by ciprofibrate have been noted in humans. In order to further investigate such possible relationships, we studied the effects of sustained ciprofibrate treatment in jerboas (Jaculus orientalis). In these rodents, ciprofibrate does not induce hepatomegaly or promote liver cell DNA replication, confirming that this species more closely resembles humans than do rats or mice.
