Taste receptor polymorphisms and longevity: a systematic review and meta-analysis

AbstractBitter taste receptors (TAS2R) are involved in a variety of non-tasting physiological processes, including immune-inflammatory ones. Therefore, their genetic variations might influence various traits. In particular, in different populations of South Italy (Calabria, Cilento, and Sardinia), polymorphisms of TAS2R16 and TAS238 have been analysed in association with longevity with inconsistent results. A meta-analytic approach to quantitatively synthesize the possible effect of the previous variants and, possibly, to reconcile the inconsistencies has been used in the present paper. Sobre cerámicas Helenísticas en Iberia / Hispania. Significado y funcionalidad

In this work we are going to take a chronological and typological tour by studying the iconography that appears in the Hellenistic wares imported from the Central and Oriental Mediterranean between 3rd and 2nd centuries BC in Hispania Citerior, in particular from Cartagena. We are going to analyze its functionality in the places of origin, and with the help of the Hispanic contexts we will conclude whether its presence here is a consequence of a certain commercial dynamic, or if it answers to a decorative preference, of taste or trend; even if the images are significant related to ritual or convivial uses, public or private, by the local inhabitant who acquires and uses them.

Taste allows insects to detect palatable or toxic foods, identify a mate, and select appropriate oviposition sites. The gustatory system strongly contributes to the survival and reproductive success of many species, yet it is rarely studied in insect parasitoids. In order to locate and assess a host in which they will lay their eggs, female wasps actively search for chemical cues using their sensory organs present mainly on the antennae. El acto representado da pie para formular un diálogo con lo que sugería Pascal Quignard cuando decía que para los romanos “el sexo estaba ligado al espanto”. A partir de esta premisa, las próximas páginas se proponen dialogar con todo aquello que para los antiguos prefiguraba la interdicción ante todo cadáver: “no tocar”. Kadastrs - sistematizēti kādu zemes vai ūdens nogabalu vai citu objektu dati; ar nodokļiem apliekamo zemju saraksts un novērtējums pilsētās un laukos. Zemes kadastru sāka ar zemes uzmērīšanu un vērtēšanu, vienlaikus veicot muižu redukciju, atsavinot lielāko daļu muižas zemju, kuras nodeva Zviedrijas valsts pārziņā. Tas bija labi izstrādāts kadastrs, un to izmantoja no 1691. līdz 1911. gadam, t. i., 220 gadus. Variability in bitter taste perception and correlation with SNP in TAS2R38 gene in different student population

People vary widely in their sensitivities to bitter compounds. The PTC gene, TAS2R38 on chromosome 7, consists a single coding exon which encodes a G-protein-coupled receptor. The taster subject contains a proline at position 49, an alanine at position 262. and a valine at position 296 (PAV form), while the no taster contains an alanine, a valine, and an isoleucine at these 3 positions, respectively (AVI form).These two forms depend on three single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP). Asperuloside Enhances Taste Perception and Prevents Weight Gain in High-Fat Fed Mice

Asperuloside is an iridoid glycoside found in many medicinal plants that has produced promising anti-obesity results in animal models. In previous studies, three months of asperuloside administration reduced food intake, body weight, and adipose masses in rats consuming a high fat diet (HFD). However, the mechanisms by which asperuloside exerts its anti-obesity properties were not clarified. Here, we investigated homeostatic and nutrient-sensing mechanisms regulating food intake in mice consuming HFD. Bile acid receptor TGR5 is critically involved in preference for dietary lipids and obesity

International audience; We investigated the implication of Takeda G protein-coupled receptor 5 (TGR5) in fat preference and fat sensing in taste bud cells (TBC) in C57BL/6 wild-type (WT) and TGR5 knock out (TGR5-/-) male mice maintained for 20 weeks on a high-fat diet (HFD). We also assessed the implication of TGR5 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in young obese humans. The high-fat diet (HFD)-fed TGR5-/- mice were more obese, marked with higher liver weight, lipidemia and steatosis than WT obese mice. Evolution of microbiological and chemical parameters during red wine making with extended post-fermentation maceration.

Abstract The aim of the present work was to investigate the microbiological, chemical, and sensory characteristics of red wine subjected to post-fermentation maceration that was extended to 90 days. For this purpose, the ‘Aglianico di Taurasi’ grape was used as a case study. The total yeast concentration increased until day 40 of maceration and decreased thereafter, whereas the concentration of lactic acid bacteria slightly increased.
