The Role of Hydrophobic Mismatch on Transmembrane Helix Dimerization in Living Cells

Use of reliable bioassays to detect potential hazard of food contact materials extracts to ensure quality, safety and innovation of paperboards
2015
International audience; Food contact materials (FCM) represent a major economic issue and also an important field of innovation for packaging industries. Food packaging production must currently meet manufacturing good practices, safety for human health and thus be in compliance with the article 3 of the European Regulation 1935/2004: “Material and articles in contact with food do not transfer substances in amounts which could endanger human health…”.
The sharedneoantigen landscape of MSI cancers reflects immunoediting during tumor evolution
2019
AbstractThe immune system can recognize and attack cancer cells, especially those with a high load of mutation-inducedneoantigens. Suchneoantigens are particularly abundant in DNA mismatch repair (MMR)-deficient, microsatellite-unstable (MSI) cancers. MMR deficiency leads to insertion/deletion (indel) mutations at coding microsatellites (cMS) and toneoantigen-inducing translational frameshifts. The abundance of mutationalneoantigens renders MSI cancers sensitive to immune checkpoint blockade. However, the neoantigen landscape of MMR-deficient cancers has not yet been systematically mapped. In the present study, we used a novel tool to monitorneoantigen-inducing indel mutations in MSI colore…
A matching task as a potential technique for descriptive profile validation
2003
If panellists can successfully match products to the corresponding descriptive profiles, then the profiles can be regarded as product-relevant and valid. This work examined the ability of a trained panel to perform a matching task between products and their descriptive profiles. A 13-member panel, trained to assess eight cheeses in terms of 19 flavour attributes, performed the task based on their individually developed profiles. The panel's ability to match products to profiles was well above that expected by chance, and chi-square statistics for each of the products were significant (P<0.05). A correspondence analysis based on the group results indicated that all the products were relative…
An optimal population code for global motion estimation in local direction-selective cells
2021
AbstractNervous systems allocate computational resources to match stimulus statistics. However, the physical information that needs to be processed depends on the animal’s own behavior. For example, visual motion patterns induced by self-motion provide essential information for navigation. How behavioral constraints affect neural processing is not known. Here we show that, at the population level, local direction-selective T4/T5 neurons in Drosophila represent optic flow fields generated by self-motion, reminiscent to a population code in retinal ganglion cells in vertebrates. Whereas in vertebrates four different cell types encode different optic flow fields, the four uniformly tuned T4/T5…
“Everything is so relaxed and personal” – The construction of helpful relationships in individual placement and support
2016
The relationship with professionals is an important factor in relation to the outcome of interventions directed to persons with severe mental problems. However, the current knowledge regarding the ...
Validity and reliability of the motivation for physical activity (RM4-FM) questionnaire
2021
There is a lack of validated instruments measuring motivation for physical activity (RM4-FM) in the Finnish language. The study examined the translated RM4-FM instrument’s psychometric properties in a sample of healthy, older Finnish adults. RM4-FM was translated and linguistically validated adhering to published guidelines. 65–75-year olds (n=102), completed the RM4-FM, the physical activity acceptance questionnaire (PAAQ) and sociodemographic characteristics questionnaires electronically. The RM4-FM was readministered one month after the initial assessment. RM4-FM translated well into Finnish. Motivation dimension scores were skewed towards high internal and low external motivation. A flo…
Preferred Outcome Measures Used in Randomized Clinical Trials of Total Knee Replacement Rehabilitation: A Systematic Review.
2020
Objective To determine the most frequently used outcome measures in total knee replacement rehabilitation trials. Literature survey Systematic review of randomized trials searched in five databases: Web of Science, MEDical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System, Physiotherapy Evidence Database, Scopus, and Cochrane Library. Methodology Trials were included if participants underwent total knee replacement rehabilitation and outcome measures were used to assess rehabilitation outcomes. A descriptive synthesis determined the frequency of using outcome measures and preferred assessment time points. Outcomes were classified into eight categories: patient- and clinician-reported function, perfo…
Musical Sonification of Arm Movements in Stroke Rehabilitation Yields Limited Benefits.
2019
Neurologic music therapy in rehabilitation of stroke patients has been shown to be a promising supplement to the often strenuous conventional rehabilitation strategies. The aim of this study was threefold: (i) replicate results from a previous study with a sample from one clinic (henceforth called Site 1; N = 12) using an already established recording system, and (ii) conceptually replicate previous findings with a less costly hand-tracking system in Site 2 (N = 30), and (iii) compare both sub-studies' outcomes to estimate the efficiency of neurologic music therapy. Stroke patients in both sites were randomly assigned to treatment or control groups and received daily training of guided sequ…
Distribution competence of a football clubs goalkeepers
2011
Much of the existing goalkeeper (GK) research is based around GK’s performance but not with a match analysis theme. Research has focused on physiology, psychology and injury prevention. Performance...
