Tämän pro gradu –tutkielman tarkoituksena on tarkastella englannin opettajaopiskelijoiden näkemyksiä englannin opettamisen tapoja ja tavoitteita. Kielen opettamista säädetään ja määritellään kansallisissa opetussuunnitelmissa, joita uudistetaan noin kymmenen vuoden välein. Englanti on Suomessa eniten opiskeltu vieras kieli ja tavoitteet englannin opettamiselle ovat korkeat. Se presenta una investigación sobre las experiencias de aprendizaje de las ciencias de los maestros/as en formación inicial de dos universidades españolas. Se recogieron 263 relatos de vida entre estudiantes de Grado en Educación Infantil y Primaria -a partes iguales en que narraban sus vivencias en las etapas de Infantil, Primaria y Secundaria, y también en entornos no académicos. Narrative Study of Teacher Students' Experiences on an Experimental Chemistry Field Course in Finland

The aim of this study was to investigate chemistry teacher students’ experiences of an experimental chemistry field course. A narrative approach was used because the aim was to obtain authentic reports. The study participants (N = 8) had all taken part in an experimental chemistry field course between 2013 and 2015. The teacher students reported that once they had participated in the field course, they were ready to teach science outside the classroom with students in future. Without the field course, they would be less likely to do so. The results indicate that chemistry teacher students feel they need more training in different learning environments. peerReviewed

As part of a bigger project on the motivation of future EFL teachers, this chapter sets out to find out what a group of student teachers (N = 67) in Finland thought teaching English would involve once they had graduated from an MA programme and entered the profession a few years later. They were asked to envision ‘An English class of my dreams’ as the final home assignment on one of their first professionally oriented courses. The envisioning was done visually so the students produced pictures (by a variety of means) and provided further details about the class in writing, on the reverse side of the task sheet. Tutkielman tarkoituksena oli saada selville millä tavalla 2. ja 3. vuoden englannin pääaineopiskelijoiden opetusvarmuus on kehittynyt pedagogisten perusopintojen harjoittelun myötä, ja lisäksi mitkä asiat ovat vaikuttaneet positiivisesti ja mitkä negatiivisesti. Tutkimus toteutettiin Jyväskylän yliopistossa vuonna 2008. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effects of a service learning (SL) program on the subjective happiness (SH), prosocial behavior (PB), and professional learning (PL) perceptions of Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) students as well as to examine the correlations among these variables.
