Rajojen poetiikkaa ja politiikkaa : taiteellinen aktivismi reaktiona "pakolaiskriisiin"

Käsittelemme artikkelissa suomalaisten nykytaiteilijoiden reaktioita vuoden 2015 ”pakolaiskriisiin” taiteellisen aktivismin näkökulmasta. Analysoimme kolmea teosta, Lauri Ahtisen Elias-sarjakuvaromaania (2018), Minna Rainion ja Mark Robertsin lyhytelokuvaa They Came in Crowded Boats and Trains (2017) ja Riiko Sakkisen näyttelyä Rajat kiinni (2017). HAWC J2227+610 and its association with G106.3+2.7, a new potential Galactic PeVatron

We present the detection of VHE gamma-ray emission above 100 TeV from HAWC J2227+610 with the HAWC observatory. Combining our observations with previously published results by VERITAS, we interpret the gamma-ray emission from HAWC J2227+610 as emission from protons with a lower limit in their cutoff energy of 800 TeV. The most likely source of the protons is the associated supernova remnant G106.3+2.7, making it a good candidate for a Galactic PeVatron. However, a purely leptonic origin of the observed emission cannot be excluded at this time.

La situation de l’artisanat verrier à Augustodunum dans le contexte des découvertes effectuées en Gaule

Il est rappelé d’abord que les cartes de répartition des ateliers de verriers en Gaule, aux premiers siècles de notre ère, écartent de nombreux sites de transformation de verre brut importé du Proche-Orient, au motif qu’on n’y a pas retrouvé de déchets exploitables d’un point de vue typologique. Mais les traces d’activités verrières de cette époque semblent bien plus nombreuses que ne le montrent ces cartes, à l’instar de ce qu’on observe à Autun.Malgré le caractère bien incomplet de nos connaissances sur la répartition des ateliers de verriers anciens de Gaule romaine, cette répartition constitue dès à présent un solide argument en faveur de la prépondérance pour le verre d’un commerce de …

Tässä työssä suunniteltiin HIISIn tyhjiöpumpuille ja ECR2:n injektiolinjalle magneettiset suojaukset HIISIn kelojen synnyttämältä magneettikentältä. HIISIn aiheuttaman magneettikentän suuruutta ja suuntaa tutkittiin simulaatioiden ja mittausten avulla suojattavissa paikoissa. Tyhjiöpumppujen valmistajat ovat ilmoittaneet kunkin pumpun kestämät maksimimagneettivuot radiaalisesti sekä aksiaalisesti. Tyhjiöpumpuille suunniteltiin ferromagneettiset suojat, jotka pienentävät HIISIn hajakenttää tyhjiöpumppujen kohdalla riittävästi, jotta pumput eivät ole vaarassa vaurioitua HIISIä käytettäessä. Measurement of CP asymmetry in D 0 → K - K + and D 0 → π - πdecays

Time-integrated $CP$ asymmetries in $D^0$ decays to the final states $K^- K^+$ and $\pi^- \pi^+$ are measured using proton-proton collisions corresponding to $3\mathrm{\,fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected at centre-of-mass energies of $7\mathrm{\,Te\kern -0.1em V}$ and $8\mathrm{\,Te\kern -0.1em V}$. The $D^0$ mesons are produced in semileptonic $b$-hadron decays, where the charge of the accompanying muon is used to determine the initial flavour of the charm meson. The difference in $CP$ asymmetries between the two final states is measured to be \begin{align} \Delta A_{CP} = A_{CP}(K^-K^+)-A_{CP}(\pi^-\pi^+) = (+0.14 \pm 0.16\mathrm{\,(stat)} \pm 0.08\mathrm{\,(syst)})\% \ . \nonu…

TRIGA-SPEC: the prototype of MATS and LaSpec

Investigation of short-lived nuclei is a challenging task that MATS and LaSpec will handle at the low energy branch of Super-FRS at FAIR. The groundwork for those experiments is laid-out already today at the TRIGA-SPEC facility as a powerful development platform located at the research reactor TRIGA Mainz. Neutron-Induced Effects on a Self-Refresh DRAM

International audience; The field of radiation effects in electronics research includes unknowns for every new device, node size, and technical development. In this study, static and dynamic test methods were used to define the response of a self-refresh DRAM under neutron irradiation. The neutron-induced effects were investigated and characterised by event cross sections, soft-error rate, and bitmaps evaluations, leading to an identification of permanent and temporary stuck cells, single-bit upsets, and block errors. Two series of dinuclear gold(I) complexes that contain two Au–chromophore units (chromophore = dibenzofurane or dimethylfluorene) connected through a diphosphane bridge that differs in the flexibility and length (diphosphane = dppb for 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)butane, DPEphos for bis[(2-diphenylphosphino)phenyl]ether, xanthphos for 4,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)-9,9-dimethylxanthene, and BiPheP for 2,2′-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1′-biphenyl) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Precision luminosity measurements at LHCb

Measuring cross-sections at the LHC requires the luminosity to be determined accurately at each centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$. In this paper results are reported from the luminosity calibrations carried out at the LHC interaction point 8 with the LHCb detector for $\sqrt{s}$ = 2.76, 7 and 8 TeV (proton-proton collisions) and for $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5 TeV (proton-lead collisions). Both the "van der Meer scan" and "beam-gas imaging" luminosity calibration methods were employed.
